Walk from the cottage to the bustling fishing town of Looe through the tidal river valley in about an hour. The picturesque village of Polperro is a 10 minute drive away. Both Looe & Polperro have many restaurants, shops & local crafts. There are many beaches to explore all within a short drive. Talland, Lansallos, naming afew. The adrenaline quarry, a 20 minute drive offers a great family day out. Also within a 15 minute drive is Bodinnick where Daphne dau Maurier lived & wrote her first novels. From there you can catch the car ferry to Fowey with its historic harbour. Walkers can enjoy the rugged south west coastal path 15 minutes drive is the village of Lerryn with a picturesque river with its village built on both sides. it has a nice pub with good food and lovely woodland walks which was the inspiration for the Wind in the Willows books by Kenneth Grahame. Within 30 minutes is the famous eden project. Lanhydrock house is a beautiful national trust property with extensive gardens & walks. The nearby village of Pelynt has 2 shops which include a butchers & a post office. There is a pub which serves good food & real ales. There is a also a social club with a sports bar where visitors are welcome. Ground floor consists of a dining room with a beautifully exposed slate floor. A lounge with a TV, dvd player & a electric heater. The kitchen has a electric oven with 4 hob rings, microwave, kettle, toaster & fridge. First floor consists of 2 bedrooms & a bathroom with a bath & new shower. This property has low ceilings & door frames downstairs. Central heating throughout. Bedroom 1 has recently been renovated to reveal higher ceilings with exposed beams & a new king bed. There is a freeview tv in this bedroom. Bedroom 2 has 2 twin beds which can be made into a superking bed. please request which you will require on booking There is a small front lawned garden. There is a lawned garden out the back with a table & chairs where you can enjoy the uninterupted stunning countryside views. The cottage had everything we could possibly need and was warm, welcoming and dry (outside definitely wasn’t). It was also spotless. The host was excellent and attentive (but not too much). Sheep are in the back garden and cows are nearby, so can always be seen. Lynette was more than helpful and made the stay special. The walk into Looe, along the river, was really nice, but hard with very little ones and a buggy. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was modern and new with a really good shower. The cottage is in a really good location, just outside of Looe and works as a really good base for travelling around Cornwall. The property itself was extremely nice and well presented with a full list of instructions and guidance on the area - it had a beautiful modern bathroom, and very homely feel throughout.. it also had a lovely front and back garden to enjoy the location and views across the surrounding area, which was very tranquil and quiet and only a short drive or walk through the woods and along the river to Looe beach. We like the peaceful location of the cottage tucked away on the farm, but it’s also within easy reach of Looe, Polperro and other fishing villages and the local beaches which are beautiful. Bernard the owner and farmer is a very good host and a wealth of local knowledge. ##### Martin S. It is close enough to the main towns and yet far enough away to come back to blissful peace and quiet. The night skies here are beautiful and very easy to gaze endlessly. Bernard and his family are very helpful and at hand if you need them. I commend them also for giving privacy during our stay and leaving us to it. I hope to visit again. ##### mark w.
