It’s converted from an old miners housing which is very cool! It’s super cute and cozy. Breakfast was lovely (the waffles were the best). The staff are wonderful - thank you Khristin for helping me with bookings tours - she was the best)! It’s about 1.5 mile walk to the city center and you have to take your shoes off before you enter, which I really appreciate (so bring some slippers or indoor shoes to wear). Once I learned the kittle trick to locking/unlocking the room door everything was great. Angie and Giorgia were top notch.Located right at the end of the road which I really liked. You were only 100 yards from the polar warning sign and the beginning of “wilderness” where you need a rifle in case of a polar bear encounter. Pretty good selection of food for breakfast. Bedroom and restrooms are clean. Thankful to have a common kitchen area to cook food. Very slippery road on the way up to the property when we got there because of snow/ice. Very warm place, but its easy to open a window. Breakfast included. The hostel is about 25 min walking from a town centre. It's a good pick place for a trips. Taxi to the airport cost less than 200 NOK.
