Close to Mt Whitney portal, Horse shoe meadow and famous other trails, excellent for day hikes. My husband and I got married in Alabama hills and he and my family and I rented both the east and west wind properties. The location is beautiful and the outdoor bathtubs are worth the stay alone. My only change would be to fully enclose the toilet in the west wind and put up glass in the shower to keep in the steam/heat. My wife and I enjoyed the location, perfect to take you road bike out and climb the big climbs. Sandwiched in between mt. whitney and horseshoe meadow. Short drive to Onion valley and white mountains. If you want the hard climbs this is the place to stay. Make sure you drive down tuttle road, its pretty nifty. Movie road is a great place to take in the scenery. Plenty of hiking trails in the area also. The house was nice. Very open to everything.
