Nice hotel with very friendly staff

Posted 11-Oct-2016
The Waterfoot is a nice hotel located on the edge of town with very friendly and helpful staff. They have decent food in the restaurant and a good offer for 2 courses for £12 or 3 for £15 at dinner time. There is also a small Snug bar which is good for conversations late into the evening! The room had a very comfortable bed with a good choice of coffee, tea and biscuits.

Don't judge a book from it's cover

Posted 08-Oct-2016
Location: It's too far to walk into the city centre.
The hotel looked rather drab and dated on the outside. Being situated right by a roundabout didn't look promising either. Inside told a different story. It looks recently refurbished throughout. My room was clean, modern and comfortable. This was my 6th different hotel in 6 nights and this hotel had the best shower of them all. For dinner I had curried hake, the presentation of the food and the quality was exceptional.

Very nicely decorated hotel, quick drive into the city. We got a great nightly rate and we're very comfortable for 1 night.

Average hotel.

Posted 10-May-2016
Pros: Not too much
Cons: Front entry could be upgraded, especially steps to reception; also providing ramp access for people with heavy or multiple bags, or wheelchairs.
Reception was good, but first room and corridor to it had been sprayed with very strong perfumed deodoriser that caused my wife to have quite a severe allergic reaction causing sinuses and tongue to swell to the extent that she had trouble breathing and had problems trying to swallow an antihistimine to ease her reaction. Had considered going to another hotel, but, 2nd room was nowhere as bad; so stayed put.

Poor quality hotel

Posted 20-Apr-2016 on Hotels
When we checked in at 2p.m our room was not ready even though I had phoned beforehand to confirm our check in time. We asked the hotel to arrange a taxi to the city centre which is advertised as being a complimentay service but we had to pay the driver. On our return that night the music from the bar and in the corridors prevented us from having much sleep. The hotel is shabby overall and will not be staying there again. We declined breakfast as we just wanted to get out of the place.
