Dump

Posted 18-Jan-2016
The place was a dump. The heater was not plugged in so you walked into a cold room. Turns out the heater was broken anyway. There were beds for three and barely towels for two - typical of a cheap hotel. We were unexpectedly stuck on town for a night and it didn't even have the complimentry toiletries of a regular hotel which would have been great in that situation. Damage, broken knobs, even an iron shaped melt mark in the carpet was everywhere in this dingy little hole. Suitable to bring a street worker but not your wife.

Pros: Next door to Witherspoons
Cons: Bathroom needs updating
Location: Everything was within walking distance
Room was cold but soon warmed up when asked for the heating to be put on

Norther Ireland tour

One night stay on a 7 day tour of Northern Ireland. This was our Derry night. Wetherspoons next door was ideal as it was the only real ale spot in Derry. Good breakast there much cheaper than hotel

Not a place to come back to

Posted 14-Sep-2015 on Hotels
The hallways were smelly and the bathroom was dirty (especially the shower curtain). The room itself was decent. Too bad there was no wifi in the room and there was no hairdryer.

Despressing; left early and grateful to leave

Posted 27-Jul-2015 on Hotels
We booked two nights here and left after the first night, and didn't care whether the second night was refunded we were so glad to leave. The hotel is in a marginal area of Londonderry, but close to the old city walls. The walls are putty and completely bare... Like a cheap college dormitory. And the only window in our room opened only about 6"/10 cm because it was obstructed by an air shaft that virtually covered the entire wondow, so no air or light could get in. Compared to other properties that we stayed in during our visit to Ireland in the same price range, this is not good value for money.

Dear Mark, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We deeply regret that in this instant our services did not reach the usual high standard of service that would be expected from Travelodge. Our hotel is currently undergoing refurbisment and moderinization to all rooms and should you wish to return to Derry we woud love to show you a different side to our property. We are sorry that you did not feel the need to raise these issues with a member of staff at the time of your visit, so we could have rectified them immediately. King Regards, Management Team
