Brilliant stay in secluded cottage on deer sanctuary.
Very warm welcome from Kevin and Caroline. Always on hand for anything we might need but not intrusive. Lovely cottage, spacious and well equipped. Private tour of deer sanctuary one of the highlights of our stay. Lovely to walk round the woods, lakes etc where there are many of Kevin's brilliant sculptures.

Comfortable, neat, clean cottage. Kevin was very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Right from our arrival until our departure Kevin and Caroline couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We arrived to find a bowl of home grown plums and freshly laid eggs- both delicious and were encouraged to pick more plums during our stay. The cottage was in a very quiet location but conveniently only minutes from the main road so useful for day trips to The Causeway Coast, Belfast, Derry and County Donegal. Kevin introduced us to his hens and ducks and encouraged is to explore the grounds around the cottage and lake. Most evenings we saw Kevin's herd of deer from a distance but unfortunately never found time to take up Kevin's kind offer of a deer 'safari'. The cottage itself was neat and tidy and clean and well maintained. It was also comfortable and well equipped. Our 10yr old son particularly liked the reclining chair with footrest! Thanks so much Kevin and Caroline. Maybe we'll be back one day but we'll definitely tell our friends!

Tranquil setting and very comfortable cottage
Enjoyed our stay at Hillfarm House Cottage very much. Wanted peace and quiet and we found it! Lovely walks from the farm exploring the lake and beautiful garden. Kevin was most welcoming and the cottage beautifully prepared with unexpected treats of homemade scones and jam and fresh eggs from the hens. Very welcome after a full day traveling.

Wonderfully isolated, peace and quiet.
Hillfarm House Cottage is a great place to get away from the usual hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's quiet and peaceful and Kevin is an exceptional host. The property is well maintained throughout, with a lovely large living area/kitchen diner. The kitchen is well equipped and Kevin very kindly supplied fresh eggs from his hens, butter, cereal, home made jam, bread, milk, ham and cheese. Obviously these could be subject to availability. Tea and coffee was also provided. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. I would have liked to have seen an electric shaver point in the bathroom, and maybe a storage shelf and hooks for towels, but the lack of these is not detrimental to the overall facilities on offer at the property. There is wifi, a TV and DVD player. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board and clothes dryer are supplied. Washing machine, dishwasher are in the kitchen, and a tumble dryer is in one of the out buildings. Everything you need is here. One thing that would probably be unique is that Kevin has a wonderful herd of 9 Fallow Deer which Kevin will take visitors out to in the field in his truck, or you can just watch them from the surrounding fences. There is also a fishing lake and a few paths to walk around the fields. This is not a working farm, so it is quite safe for children, but adults should supervise children at all times anyway. The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area and attractions. Londonderry is about 15 mins. drive, and the coast attractions are 45 min. - 1 hr. away. Portstewart is great as you can actually park on the National Trust beach and watch body surfers in the sea on windy days. Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-rade rope bridge are all within easy driving distance. It's worth driving to Larne, about 1 1/2 hours drive away and working the way back along the Causeway Coastal Route, some fantastic scenery and places to stop off. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who doesn't mind being out of built up areas and well into the countryside and needing to drive to the areas attractions. Thanks Kevin for a wonderful stay.

Irland-Nord einfach pur. Es war eine tolle Woche. Vielen Dank!
