Proximity to Derry.

No frills hotel. I would rate it a 3Star. Not too much more to add as we didn't eat there.

Hotel close to motorway to Belfast/Causeway

Posted 01-Sep-2016
Pros: We liked the spacious bedroom and bathroom and TUB as well as shower and exceptionally helpful staff. Never used the pool.hot tub/sauna .
Cons: Perhaps better signage ahead of the actual hotel turn off, as we missed it, and then had to come around the back end off the motorway.
Location: You drive through Belfast on a very busy motorway from Northern Ireland.Don't miss the Titanic Museum or the Irish Folk Village. Drive motorway early.
The front desk staff were all exceptionally helpful as were the cleaning staff very professional making sure our needs were taken care of. They could use some additional cell phone adaptors for North Americans who do not come prepared and tourists should not take them home ?? Rugs in bedroom could do with some replacing and perhaps new colour to match their lovely red and gold decor, but rooms are very spacious and a welcome change from the B & B's. Be careful on the high bathtubs in stepping out avoid a nasty fall. Restaurant had very high prices, food quality not great and service very slow. Only low side was a noisy party in next room who were very loud but hotel was receptive to deal with quickly, Could use some more brochures , maps with information in lobby for Belfast area as we kept missing the Tourist Information Centres in Northern Ireland they were hard to locate and not open user friendly hours. Why does the Southern side of the Ireland Information Centres have no info on Northern Ireland?

Pool is its saving grace

Posted 15-Jun-2016 on Hotels
The positives: Room was good for a family stay: double bed and two singles but still plenty of space. Pool is great for kids and was the highlight of our visit. Bar food was decent. The negatives: Indifferent service at check-in and check-out. Bucket in corridor due too leaking roof when it rained. We could tolerate those, but a wedding on in the hotel during our stay got out of hand and spoiled our visit. There were aggressive exchanges between English guests in the corridor outside our room, culminating in a very upsetting violent incident in the room next us. We contacted reception and a man said that someone would come up to see what was happening -- we watched and waited and waited, but no one showed up. As a result we endured several hours of rowdy behaviour from our neighbours. The two rooms had (locked) interconnecting doors so the noise (and cigarette smoke) travelled easily between the rooms. A hotel cannot be responsible for the behaviour of all its guests, but in this case there was no follow-up from the hotel to look out for its well-behaving guests, which was very disappointing and undoubtedly prolonged out discomfort.

Interim place to stay on my travels

It was hot that evening even with the window open, but there was no air conditioning. The hotel staff was helpful telling me about local sights to visit and restaurants.

Lovely hotel on outskirts of city

Posted 10-Jun-2016
Pros: friendly though professional staff lovely decor clean room and comfortable bed. Food was very nice
Cons: signage to the bar from reception and dining room would be good unless we missed it !
Location: just outside city located off main road but no room noise small cafe on other side of carriageway handy for coffee break
we checked in late afternoon lovely girl on reception changed us to ground floor disabled room as I use a rollater and they don't have lift she was very pleasant and gave us all information needed for stay. Room was large clean and comfortable. Ate in restaurant staff very attentive food was lovely and price reasonable. We went for drinks in bar though had to ask where it was no signage bar prices bit steep. Staff again were pleasant . Bed was comfy pillows were good had good nights sleep no noise. Only stayed one night so didn't use facilities but what was offered appeared to be good standard. Breakfast was serve yourself everything we had was good nice to have potatoe bread. Check out was quick and easy. Had really nice stay in lovely hotel would recommend.
