I would not think VRBO as a company would host properties in buildings where such use is not allowed. The outdoor stairs to the lower level are treacherous especially if you have luggage. Advertised as three bedrooms, beds were small and uncomfortable, low to the ground and the third bedroom had an old futon with a rod down the middle. The shower in one of the bedrooms is so narrow as to be inaccessible and the other shower really is in the hall. The upstairs of the unit is beautiful but the spiral staircase is tricky. The location is great and it was very clean.At one point the security alarm was going off in the unit. This happens when the battery is old and should probably be part of regular maintenance. Luckily Nick got back to us right away with the code. We very much appreciated the extended check in and check out accommodations. ##### Robyn H. Checkin wasn’t as smooth as I thought it would be. It was Christmas however. Checkin time on the listing stated 3pm and we had provided our flight details and arrival time as requested. When we arrived it was about 7pm or so and the gentleman who met us was having difficulty accessing the entrance. He told me that we were early for checking in which didn’t make any sense to me but we were tired from travel and eager to check in. I told him I read a review about the listing that you actually have to enter the property from the lower level / basement entrance. Come to find out the reason that is due to the fact the property management doesn’t want other residents to know the property is being used as a vacation rental. We were even told that if we get asked who we are to say we know the owners. Stayed 5 nights in Jun 2023 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Stevan D. 10 Sept 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy The flat was immaculate, and it had every convenience.Every appliance, large and small, had safety inspection stickers on them which was very responsible.The host was responsive to all our calls and requests.There is a concierge at a front desk who was extremely friendly and helpful with everything.There were pharmacies, grocery markets, dry cleaners, coffee shops, numerous restaurants, bakeries, specialty shops, boutiques, and hair and nail salons all within easy walking distances.Out local tube station, Glouster Road Station was a ten minute walk which was very convenient and helpful.We felt very safe in the clean neighborhood, and the buildings and parks were beautiful.On future stays in London, I hope we can return to this property.My husband and I recommend it 100%. ##### Stevan D. We liked the location, not too far from the tube and close to some great restaurants and shopping. The spiral staircase was a little to be desired (steep). Upgraded towels, linens & pillows would be an improvement. Access to guest shower was not optimal, maybe some privacy panels. No power in guest bathroom is a problem, but probably can’t be helped. Upstairs amenities are nice! We should not have had to wait 40 min.to get inside while waiting for host. Let people know it’s easier to enter at lower entrance with luggage. Just some suggestions for improving, has great potential! ##### Beth S. Kensington Initially they wanted us to used the narrow stairs and entrance thru a small basement like hall with a super narrow entrance. Fortunately we convinced the cleaning lady to give us the keys to front door (apparently the neighbors are not happy with the short term rentals) bedrooms were so tiny, we could hardly walk around the bed, luggage sat in hallway. Upstairs was accessed thru spiral staircase. Towels were olderand no hand towels. ##### Suzy A. Heat wasn't working when we arrived, beds were terrible, we are both trim average height men and we could barely move in the bathroom, one bathroom has no privacy, when you open the shower door, you are in a hall. after one night we asked to move and they found us another unit that was substantially better. Nick handled this very professionally and we ended up having a great week. To me, the only positive about the unit above is that it is located in a great neighborhood. ##### John A. It was ideal for us - a couple visiting London without kids - who were visiting for a mix of both business and pleasure. We would happily stay here again. Excellent public transport nearby, museeums in walking distance. Our first impression was quite good, but on closer inspection the appartment was not properly cleaned (e.g. oily burnt mess in oven, limescale in electric kettle, dirty coffee machine), some of the lights were not working, water in the bathroom was not flowing properly, blinds not working., wet spot in underground kitchen, etc. We were expecting a better mainteanced property for this hefty rental price. The owner made an effort to clean up, but of course could not solve the other issues. Therefore we cannot recommend the appartment in its current state. ##### Markus J. The property was as listed. Communication was excellent. If I could have I would have given a 4.5 review as there were some small annoying features such as out of six window blinds theee didn’t work. Also the kitchen is fine but has no window as does the loo. But wonderful high ceilinged living room made up for it. ##### Ray W.
