I stayed one night at this property which I have used a number of times in the past, pre-covid. The property continues to be basic but clean. My room was tiny but that was fully expected, this hotel being a large Victorian period building conversion. This is reflected in the price which is reasonable by London standards.
The breakfast room has been converted from ordinary tables and chairs to a lounge style format with comfortable chairs and lower tables. The basic Continental breakfast has been scaled back from what I remember, probably a sign of covid times, to just toast, pasteries, coffee, tea, juice. Gone were the cheese slices, ham slices, hard boiled eggs, fruits offered in the past. They have a garden with lounging seats in the back, which is off the breakfast room.
The location is what makes this property worth staying at. The surrounding neighbourhood has all the retail services you could need: groceries, pubs, fast food, chemist, stationer, banking, etc. And the most positive advantage is the literal "just steps around the corner" location to the Earl's Court Tube station. This station is on the Piccadilly Line, which offers convenient direct service to Heathrow airport. And with the tube so close it makes easy to get around London from the My Place Hotel.
To summarize, if you're looking for "cheap and cheerful" accomodation with easy access to get in from and to Heathrow, then this is the property to stay at when visiting London.
