Once a blacksmith’s shop, an ironmonger’s, and later a public house, this remarkable building is a surviving thread in the rich fabric of Fitzrovia’s past. Picture yourself sipping your morning coffee in a loft that inspired the “Proles” pub in Orwell’s 1984, surrounded by echoes of the city’s literary and cultural history. With a newly renovated interior that blends timeless character with modern luxury, it’s a space where the past feels vividly present.
