The house boasts a super king-size Vi-spring bed in the Chinese bedroom, a double bed in the Green Room, and two singles in the Twin Bedroom with ultra-comfortable mattresses, all cooled by ceiling fans. The sitting room has substantial armchairs and sofa, an iMac for your use, adjacent to the dining room / kitchen, which is a culinary dream with a large Rangemaster induction cooker and fridge freezer, the worktops of swirling granite. Easy trip up to London Blackfriars on the Loughborough overland train a couple blocks away. Or a 1 click walk to Briton train and tube. The market at Brixton is great with plenty of butchers and fresh vegetables and fruit. There is a great grocery store on the way to the Loughborough train station. If you are looking for a "Mary Poppins" experience in London this is it! The house is very close to the bus stop and train station. We were able to get to all the normal attractions in London very easily on the bus system with 5 kids. The house was great and had everything we could possibly need. It was cosy and very comfortable. It would have been nice if there was a shower curtain in the upstairs, shared bathroom but that didn't present any difficult issues for us.The local area was just alright for us. I would have preferred to have been a little closer to the underground by walking. Bearing in mind that it was winter when we stayed so with nicer weather, the walk would have been much more pleasant. We did use busses and Uber which were great options to have. We stayed four nights and couldn't have been happier. Luxor House is spacious, exquisitely furnished, and equipped with conveniences and appliances we loved. There were five of us, two couples and a single, and we all had private space on different (physical) levels. Having two full bathrooms and an additional half bathroom helped greatly. The house is filled with natural light, and the outdoor space is better than the photos. Our host was terrific, providing information about transportation and the area before we arrived and proactively making sure, a few days ahead of time, that we had the details needed for check-in. When we did arrive, there were cold drinks in the fridge and other goodies. Our host went to the trouble of putting up a Christmas tree and decorating for us. It definitely felt like Christmas even thought we were far from home. We were able to get to all the places we wanted to visit with public transit. The Thameslink station was very close by. Buses were even closer, and it was pretty easy to get to the underground. The house is on multiple levels which gives each person a feeling of privacy. There were bathrooms for each of us as well. Stairs could be a problem for those with mobility issues. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were nice. Our host responded to our questions very quickly, and sent us a helpful email with directions to many landmarks. We might have preferred a location that was closer to central London, but it was nice to be in a quiet neighborhood. There was a lovely store a block away with all the groceries we needed. The walk to Brixton station was about 15 minutes, which is the transportation we took most. It was pretty easy to get to any London location. Location convenient to bus and tube which affords access to the major attractions. The location was very quiet, clean and comfortable certainly lived up to the description.
