Situated in the small village of Bracklagh, it has been finished to a very high standard with a new bathroom and kitchen, ensuite wet room, wood/peat burning stove, saorview tv, bluetooth speaker, digital Roberts radio, linen & towels from The White Company, underfloor heating via a groundwater heat pump and most of the electricity provided by a ground mount solar array.. A refurbished hay barn is ideal for parking, while a second, lockable barn is available to store bikes, surfboards and the like. Our little boy & our dog both enjoyed their stay. We didn't want to leave. We would love to come back & definitely stay for longer. Sean & Suzi, have literally thought of everything. Beautiful scenery and amazing hosts (Sean & Susie) were very helpful and considerate of our needs, as my partner is disabled, we also had two dogs with us. Many tasteful details make you feel comfortable. Sean was a very nice, uncomplicated and helpful host. If you like a quiet surrounding in the midst of the landscape, this will be the perfect place. After our experience at the last cottage, which was less than welcoming (guest instructions posted like confetti around whole house), cluttered, and unclean, we weren't sure what to expect.We weren’t disappointed! Seán allowed us to check in early and met us at their cottage to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for more!The cottage was spotlessly clean and had some basic supplies (tea, sugar, etc.). We took advantage of Suzi's cooking and generosity by ordering her soda bread and a cottage pie for two which would easily feed four and all for a very reasonable 25...thank you, Suzi We humans soon made friends with the resident cats, who thankfully were very dog savvy moggies, although our dogs were less entranced Would we recommend? Peaceful location, characterful accommodation with really comfortable beds, rooms and living room. We both slept so well. It was fully stocked with everything, plus more, you could think of including games, cable tv, extensive kitchen equipment, high quality bedding and a delightful bath. The hosts were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and informative. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning very soon. Thank you Mayo. The house is very comfortable throughout. Sean met us at property and gave us a quick run down of the house. The information folder provided included "everything" you need to know about property and surrounding amenities. The enclosed front garden was perfect for our dog. The kids loved having there own rooms as they usually have to share a room when we go away. My son had hours of enjoyment using the extra large box of lego to not only play with but also to do his stop motion videos. We did have the unfortunate inconvenience of car troubles on a bank holiday weekend but sean and suzie were very helpful in suggesting places that could help us and even offered to baby/dog sit if we needed and gave us extra time in the cottage before checking out so that we could make areangements. We could not recommend them more for a quiet getaway and we look foward to returning in the future. They have provided everything you will need while you are there, there is no utensil or cookware that you will find yourself without.
