Watt vy - Wattblick Reet Dünenlage

This charming cottage in a unique location has been aptly named “Watt vy” (View of the Mudflats). Indeed, with its thatched roof, large, unspoiled garden, and magnificent view of the sea, it’s the ideal place to simply unwind. The rooms are spread across three floors and feature high-quality, modern furnishings. A tasteful design with vibrant pops of color and unique materials (Designers Guild/Christian Lacroix) makes this little hideaway truly special.

On the first floor is the living and dining area with an open kitchen (granite countertop, KitchenAid Artisan kettle, Nespresso machine, Alessi juicer, and more) offering a direct view of the Wadden Sea, as well as a guest restroom. From the two furnished terraces—featuring Weishäupl teak garden furniture and original white Sylt garden furniture—complete with a beach chair (approx. April – October)—you have a fantastic view of the heath, the Wadden Sea, and Blidsel Bay, and can enjoy the sun all day long.

One floor up are two wonderfully cozy bedrooms—one with a double bed (180 cm x 200 cm, low end) and the other with a comfortable bunk bed (140 cm x 200 cm). The adjacent shower room, featuring exclusive fixtures and Bisazza mosaics, demonstrates that you don’t have to sacrifice anything—even in a small space—when everything is thoughtfully arranged. “Focused compactness” is the motto here, yet you won’t miss the sense of spaciousness—thanks to the view alone! The staircase to the upper floor is relatively narrow and steep.

The sloping ceiling lends the third bedroom—with a wide double bed (180 cm x 200 cm, short end) and a “bull’s-eye” window offering sweeping views—a cozy charm. High-quality custom woodwork adds character and rounds out the cozy atmosphere. The staircase there is very steep.

“Watt vy” is located on Westerheide, a residential street halfway between Kampen and List. The Sylters call this privileged part of the island “Sonnenland” (Land of the Sun). A dreamlike location, nestled between the North Sea and the Wadden Sea, set amidst the heathland in a nature reserve. The beaches on both coasts are within walking distance. Shopping options—for example, in List or Kampen (each about 4 km away)—as well as all other amenities on Sylt are easily accessible. If you’d like, you can use—in addition to your own car—the nearby bike path (old railroad right-of-way = part of the circular trail through Sylt) or the bus for excursions

The unguarded beach section No. 21, which is part of the Westerheide, is very quiet even in high season and is especially great for dog owners. Since there are no parking spaces available anywhere nearby, this beach section is used almost exclusively by residents of Westerheide and Süderheide; it’s about a 15-minute walk away.
