Our stay at Casa do Mercado was absolutely wonderful! Pedro and the team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout our visit. We arrived without any plans, and Pedro was incredibly helpful — arranging restaurant reservations, recommending must-see sights, sharing tips on avoiding the big crowds, and even pointing us to the best sunset viewing spot. His local knowledge made all the difference and truly elevated our experience. The location is fantastic — just steps from the Time Out Market and within easy reach of so many of Lisbon’s top attractions, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. The continental breakfast was just right to give us the energy we needed to kick start the day. Thank you, Pedro and the entire Casa do Mercado team, for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

Location, location, location! This property is in the best location to explore and enjoy Lisbon. Maria is phenomenal. Would stay here again. Just know there is no elevator so if have heavy luggage be prepared to carry up one flight of stairs. There are rooms on the first floor so maybe ask for one if that is the case. Great place to stay in Lisbon!

Clean room with comfortable bed, tight space in the shower room. Shower hot and cold water temperature are on extremes, it is difficult to get the right temperature. WiFi is slow. They have basic continental breakfast. Location is excellent for metro and bus. Lots of good places to eat.

Gritty neighborhood, amenities misrepresented

This place was hard to find. From the Main Street, the building signs marking the “hotel” were darkened, broken windows, graffiti. I’m tough, don’t need fancy, this neighborhood was rough. I definitely paid a real hotel price and just feel ripped off. There is no loading zone for parking. It says it’s a bed and breakfast, with FREE continental breakfast, we got no free breakfast and this was a part of my budgeting. The neighborhood is dirty, gritty, graffiti, homeless and others urinating in the streets. Very very loud and busy nightlife on a Sunday night, partying/shouting in the streets. I forgot and thought it must have been a Friday. Bringing my daughters here our first night in Lisbon had me in a panic. When we finally found the entrance (carting luggafe)we had to have a working phone to get the code to get in, then once in, needed a code to get our key. The room door was very hard to get open. The guy said there was a minibar. Maybe in Europe that just means a refrigerator? There was a carafe of water. The cold water in the bathroom would barely come out, the supply mostly turned off, when I adjusted it on, it dripped. It dropped loud into water because the sink drain was broken in the closed position. The description mentions eating in the restaurant/bar like it has one. It doesn’t. Maybe those were the storefronts on the main road that had long been vandalized with graffiti and broken windows and abandoned. The beds and pillows were very comfortable.

We truly enjoyed our stay so much. Manuel, the manager, was so kind and helpful and recommended us really great things to do around the area. The room was beautiful and refreshing especially after a long day of walking and doing all kinds of things. I definitely recommend to anyone that likes being in the center and around a lot of life. There’s a major transport station about 5 mins away which is really helpful to get around to further places, such as beaches outside of Lisbon, and of course the airport and other train stations. Thanks a lot Manuel, we had a great time in Lisbon !!!

Wonderful stay in the heart of Lisbon

Casa do Mercado is a great place to stay to explore Lisbon. It's convenient for the old town and the waterfront. My room was excellent with a huge and comfortable bed and a pretty balcony and shutters to make the room cosy at night. Manuel, my host, was charming and incredibly helpful. He went all out to ensure my stay went smoothly and that I made the most of my Lisbon experience. I will definitely be staying again!

Achtung Treppen !, Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet jedoch wenig platz zum Kleider verstauen. Zu wenig Ablageflächen im Bad (für Frauen Hygieneartikel usw) War einbisschen mühsam. In der Nacht ist es zu dunkel im Zimmer da es fast keine Lampen/Licht hat. Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfbereit. Frühstück super, sie kochen es immer direkt und frisch vor dir! Location perfekt, 5 min von Bairro alto, 1 min vom Timeout Market. Verschiedene Restaurants und Bars sind in Fussgänger nähe :D Hat uns super gefallen

The staff were friendly and helpful, location great. The room was small but the bed was comfy. The hotel is a bit hard to find as the reception is small and looks like a bar. The entrance to the rooms is around the corner. We had to leave before breakfast so the staff gave us a tray with fruit, granola and yoghurt. There was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee.

A recepção foi perfeita, Miguel superou nossas expectativas. Em particular, nota 10 a ele pela cortesia e atenção com nossa família. Os quartos são de bom gosto, charmosos e espaçosos. Limpos e bem organizados. Reservamos 3 quartos. Havia degraus de madeira soltos, e isto é perigoso. Ma so principal problema foi no ar condicionado de um dos quartos que, estando ligado ou desligado, a cada dez minutos, acionava algo acordando a gente. Toda a noite. A cada dez minutos. Foi terrível.
