My room was tastefully decorated and I had everything I needed. I appreciated being left a small bottle of water and I got a glass off a very lovely Prosecco as my VIP gift. The hotel is located a 20 minute walk from the train station right on Kalku street overlooking the square. While this is a great location, the music from one of the bars opposite is loud (with just one beat …) so it can be quite noisy. All reception staff were extremely helpful and you can purchase and/or collect a Riga pass here. The breakfast buffet is quite good but I suggest they review how to distribute teas and coffees. On two mornings it took a long time to get a coffee (once I had almost finished my breakfast before I got one). It seemed as if one of the two waiting staff managed all interaction with guests (making drinks, asking room number, getting orders for al-a-carte meals) while the other didn’t seem to have any time sensitive tasks. I overheard over guests complaining about the time to get drinks also. I do recommend this hotel but I’d request a room that doesn’t overlook the square if you want to avoid the music.

Loved the room design with the brickwork as cooled down the room. Worth getting the spa deals especially in this heat we are having at the moment. Try and get a room facing the inwards towards the top of the spa or a higher floor. It might not be the best view but you won't hear all the noice outside as being on the 2nd level we could hear music from the bar next to the hotel and across the road. The location is perfect with a shopping mall with food court across the road and just being inside the old town makes it easy to get around and easy access to buses/trains/trams etc. Only couple of downsides the noise and children in the spa. I go to a spa to relax not listen to scream kids or kids having swimming lessons in the poo.

The exterior of the hotel, while beautiful (because all of Old Town Riga is incredibly beautiful), conceals elegance. The decorators have expertly emphasized the beautiful historical architecture while maintaining modern elegance. The friendly staff were very accomodating with all our needs. Breakfast was exceptional with a fresh buffet as well as an assortment of hot menu items to order.
