The hotel is great, clean, well appointed, warm, good shower etc... The mattresses were a little firm for me, but probably just a personal thing.
We are a family of three & stayed in the family room & found it perfect & really well priced.
It's outside of Lincoln, so you'll need to drive to get anywhere, no public transport put here either. You could cycle, if you take bikes.
Park on site which was great of our little one, marina nearby, as is the canal. So lovely spot overall.
The only thing that lets this whole experience down is the food in the pub. It is just unbelievably dire. & I will happily eat in a Wetherspoons.
We've eaten in a Marston's once before, & although this was a bad experience I put it down as a bad branch (nowhere near this one), so didn't think twice about eating here. The menu, unsurprisingly was the same, so we steered clear of our previous choices. On arrival, our portions we're a really good size, it just wasn't nice again sadly. I can only put this down to the supplier, as all the food looks like pre-prepped items that just need to be heated/fried. But it's so disappointing!
However, the beer is good & the staff were really lovely, friendly, accomodating & attentive.
If it weren't for the terrible food, I'd happily give the place 10/10. So if you're happy to eat elsewhere (or rubbish food), then definitely worth a visit!
