The best time to visit Lima is during its dry season, which runs from May to November, offering cooler temperatures and less humidity.

During these months, the weather is more agreeable for exploring the city's many attractions without the intense humidity of the summer. You'll find it's generally sunny, though Lima is known for its "garúa" – a fine, misty fog that can appear in the mornings, especially from July to September, but usually burns off to reveal clear skies.

For those planning to combine their city visit with trips to other parts of Peru, like Cusco or the Amazon, the dry season in Lima conveniently aligns with the dry season in the highlands and jungle, making it an ideal time for an extensive tour of the country.
