Oceanfront Family Retreat with Kids' Amenities & Stunning Views

"We had a very nice stay at the little blue house on the beach. The biggest benefit is its beach view- the house is situated right on the ocean. It's on the quieter/less populated end of Folly Beach so it's the perfect place to visit for a quiet family trip. There were more beach toys/chairs/sand games than we could use given the age of those in our party, but if you have a young family, there are tons of beach toys.The host and property management company were very responsive replacing part of one of the toilets on the first day we arrived and fixing the shower handle to make it easier to operate. Listening to the waves on the deck or on the rooftop patio/deck was also a highlight at night.One of the negatives on the house is that it has seen a lot of wear and tear. The bathrooms could use upgrades, the furniture was partially busted and we couldn't sit in two of the chairs. At arrival, there was also only one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and 2 pods for the washing machine. Definitely bring all of your own cleaning supplies and paper products along with whatever food you'll need. The house is 3 miles from "downtown Folly". Overall, we had a great vacation there for a week and would definitely return with all of our own supplies :)"

"We really enjoyed our stay at this cute little house! It had so much character and it was perfect for our family. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch because when it rained we were still able to be outside and enjoy the ocean view. The kitchen was also easy to manage for being smaller. Diane was a great host and we definitely recommend this spot if you want a smaller ocean front home to stay in that sleeps up to 8 people Also, the water pressure was amazing in the shower which was nice after being at the beach all day."

"Overall this is a great location. Very secluded beach with very awesome beach access. Good communication when we had an issue with the dishwasher on a weekend.My biggest issue is in the listing. The pictures don’t quite give a full idea of things. There have been updates but it’s definitely an older cinder block building. The upstairs bathroom has a bathtub (no shower) and toilet. The other things on that floor are the kitchen and dining area and living room. Downstairs are the bedrooms. Three are connected. One is not. There is a tiny bathroom with a pretty nice shower with great water pressure but no toilet. Next door is a not so nice shower with a toilet that’s very hard to get to. My kids were fine on it but I felt claustrophobic using it. There’s a washing machine directly in front of it and if you are a bigger person it’s not going to work for you. Even my 4 year old complained about how tight the fit was.Comes with a baby gate thankfully but the inside stairs are in the middle of the room which is definitely an attractive nuisance. Just an fyi in case you plan to go with younger kids. You can see this in the pictures though. AC did great most of the visit but we had one day that was super hot and humid and the units could not keep up. They do have stand fans in two of the bedrooms that helped a lot when it was still 77 at bedtime. Would I stay here again? Yes. Overall it was worth it for the convenience but I hope they update the downstairs bathroom situation."

"The house and location were simply amazing. Everything a family needs in one place. Go to the grocery on your drive in and you can stay for a week and never leave. Plenty to do downtown or in Charleston if you want, or be a beach bum, sip a margarita and enjoy the beach."

"Perfect location for stunning ocean views. House was exactly as described. Perfect for porch sitting or beach play. Layout was great for families with kids. Loved the first floor master. Ran into a couple of glitches and Jimmy Nolan resolved them within hours. He even answered messages after midnight. Would highly recommend!"

"Great beachfront property for our family with lots of great room. A few details are lacking but the host fixed those in a timely fashion. There were only two kitchen towels which for several meals and 8 people, was not enough. The game room upstairs is fun but needs some attention. One of the pool pockets needs repair, and all of the darts for the dartboard were broken. The host brought more darts right away the next day, but unfortunately they were metal tipped and not the right kind for the dartboard. All in all, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and the space is wonderful for a large family gathering. Some parts of the home look a little worn out, which is unfortunate for the price. But we had a great time and enjoyed all the amenities such as the numerous decks, the pool and the easy beach access."
