You've found it! Angel's Envy is a private log home getaway just 8 minutes drive from downtown Blowing Rock, nestled on 10 quiet acres bordering Pisgah National Forest. Whether inside or outside, you'll have a front-row seat to views of the Blue Ridge mountains as you look across the Johns River Gorge to famous peaks like Grandfather, Hawksbill, and Calloway. While you are close to town you'll feel like you are miles from anywhere because you are surrounded by the forest and the mountain views without another house in sight. Whether you're planning a family trip, friends' getaway, or just some time to recharge, this place is made for relaxing. There's a huge open living area with a cozy fireplace and a big leather sectional perfect for movie nights on the 65" 4K smart TV. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of room for multiple cooks, every utensil you need, new appliances and both a Keurig and standard coffee maker for your morning brew. Enjoy your meal with friends and family around a custom-built wooden dining table that seats up to 10 people. There is another custom built large table outside on the deck for you to enjoy meals while taking in the serene mountain view. With two full floors plus a loft, there's room for up to 12 guests to spread out and unwind. The main-level king suite has a super comfy new mattress and a private bath—your own little retreat. Two more bedrooms (king + queen) share a bathroom on the same floor. Upstairs in the loft, there's a chill spot with a desk (just in case work follows you), a couch, and more seating to hang out and a card table for puzzling, board games, or a quiet spot to read. Downstairs, you'll find a game room with ping pong, foosball and a second living room with a big screen TV and Wii, plus puzzles and board games. There's also a queen bedroom and a bunk room the kids (or kids-at-heart) will love, as well as a futon if you need an extra place to crash. Outside is where the real magic happens: A big wraparound deck with plenty of chairs and outdoor dining A lower patio with a hook and ring toss game, and relaxing hot tub overlooking the mountains—perfect for sunsets or stargazing A screened-in porch with cozy seating and peaceful forest vibes A grill for those mountain cookouts Adirondack chairs perfect for your morning coffee or afternoon cocktails Custom cornhole boards Angel's Envy is the perfect mix of peaceful nature, comfort, and space to gather with the people who matter most. PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: Due to the home's location, tucked away on the side of a mountain ridge, AWD or 4WD is required year-round. The last mile to the house is a single lane gravel road and the property has a steep gravel driveway with several switchbacks. In times of snow or ice, a very capable vehicle will be needed to access the home. Before arrival, guests will be sent explicit directions on how to find the house and tips on navigating the road and driveway. PROPERTY RULES: Due to neighborhood restrictions, the following are not permitted: motorcycles, ATVs, RVs, trailers, fireworks, drones, firearms or large unauthorized gatherings (parties of more than 12 people and/or more than 4 vehicles). Notes: CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided Internet is provided by satellite (Starlink) with speeds range from 20-100 Mbps, good for streaming (Netflix, Hulu, etc) and video conferencing (Zoom) The homeowner occasionally has pets in the home, but it is not pet friendly to rentals. Thank you for not bringing pets to this home. Ten steps are necessary to access the main level from the parking area. The basement game room level and fireplace were not usable. The cabin is really beautiful, lots of space and amenities. You cannot have a better location once you get from from the mountain, it’s minutes from Blowing Rock and Boone. The drive off the main road is an AWD SUV must (this was middle of summer) with the road up being very narrow (one car only), switching from paved to extremely rugged dirt/gravel road and extremely steep, as well as tight switch backs for about 10 minutes. The owners are very clear about this in the listing, it not for the faint of heart but truly worth it at the end. The only issues we had were that the garbage from the previous renter was piled up in the laundry room making the bottom level with 2 extra bedrooms, the ping pong table, deck to the hot tub, and game room pretty unusable due to the overwhelming smell. I reached out to owners and Blue Mountain the texts received and contact on VRBO (via text and email) and did not get a response. We were there for 5 days and at 10am of our departure someone finally did pick up the garbage from previous renters but we were already on our way. It does get chilly at night and the fireplace did not work- once again no response on this either. There was only 4 of us so the main level and loft worked just fine- the layout, kitchen, and views are just fantastic. I would say overall very nice experience but for $400+ a night get rid of the garbage and smell, have a working fireplace, but otherwise a great luxury cabin! ##### Kelly T. The place was very well equipped for cooking. Nice to go out as well. It was just remote enough to feel like you were private. However close to Blowing Rock. The driveway was steep as described but totally manageable. The house was very clean and had plenty of space for our party of 10\. We had a great time! The house was absolutely beautiful. It felt like home with lots of cozy blankets and a really well stocked kitchen. The view was amazing as well! This house is perfect for someone wanting the Mountain Views and doesn’t want to venture out much. This was great for our family with young kids as we spend a lot of our vacation time at the house. Very comfy and spacious, kids loved the loft and lower level to play in, lots of room for everyone to spread out and sleep. Property is close to downtown Blowing Rock and very easy to get to and from Boone or hikes along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s big and cozy. Plenty of space for everyone. It even has a loft I used as an office. Great amenities, Keurig, ApplaWatch chargers, ping pong table, games, hot tub, washer/dryer, to name a few.
