Our security team should have managed this better for you and have been trained on how to deal with issues like this in the future. You will be pleased to hear that we have had maintenance investigate the roof, and the damaged lead on the historic roof has been repaired.

Lovely stay and amazing team!
I love this hotel! I regularly stay in Leicester for work and this has become my hotel of choice! The hotel is lovely and the rooms are comfortable. The team are friendly and helpful, and Nabeela is an asset to your team!

Good location and service
We stay on our way to Peak District and choose to do a park run in the morning. The park run is in the same park which is 1 minute outside which is amazing. The front desk staff is excellent, when we check the time of breakfast, they told the kitchen to make sure wait us to get our breakfast- in the end we back on time but still very caring service.

Terrible Hotel. Do not stay here
Hotel was terrible in all area of its business. Do not stay here. ROOMS were shabby and not worthy of the boutique hotel price charged. There was a strange smell in the corridors and rooms akin to urine and disinfectant. The bathroom was cheap, poorly install and smelled of damp as a result of poor extraction. CLEANLINESS was at the bottom of the to-do list of this hotel. Generally untidy and dirty throughout. A strange system of room servicing whereby they would leave clean towels on the dirty carpet floor outside the door each morning. Policy was not to service the room until 3rd night for green reasons but a cost cutting exercice. STAFF were generally unfriendly, unhelpful and rude. There were countless examples of interactions that left us suprised, from poor check-in to terrible service at breakfast. One morning,we were told to vacate the breakfast room so that they could set up for another event. However, we were still within 7am to 10am breakfast service period. On the weekend, they would not serve Lunch and there was no alternative to eat. We had to drive to the city centre. SERVICE was generally poor throughout the stay. I heard staff make numerous disparaging comments about guest. They seemed poorly trained with little to no supervision or visible management. Overall, I wish i had booked City Centre Hotel. I did not feel safe in the area at all.

Dear GuestsWe are extremely disappointed at your review, having had no knowledge of any unhappiness during your stay for the 2-day wedding you were attending, where your meals were provided during a full itinerary as part of your celebrations with the bride and groom.On Saturdays the hotel runs its award-winning afternoon tea service, which in line with all popular restaurants requires a reservation to confirm a table. As such, we sent you information regarding this, along with booking link, when we confirmed your reservation on the 12th of March.Our room refresh policy has been that if guests would like the room refreshed, hang the Make Up My Room door hanger outside. This is to allow guests the option of privacy and rest, or room servicing during their stay. We advise on check in and in the guest information booklets in the room.On your advice, we have now adjusted this policy. Guests are required to place DO NOT DISTURB on the door if they DO NOT require room servicing. Fresh towels will now only be placed in rooms that servicing is taking place in.During your stay, our housekeeping did speak to you in room 102 regarding any house keeping requirements, and you did use the DO NOT DISTURB signs.All areas of the hotel are fragranced with an automated system to keep the corridors fragranced. Whilst the room fragrance outside your door may not have been to your liking, it can in no way be compared to the smell of urine, your comments are untrue and do not reflect the beautifully restored Georgian grandeur of the building, set within private grounds surrounded by 168 acres of public park land.The hotel always seeks feedback to ensure high quality service for all guests, on this occasion your review falls completely opposite to those of all other reviews received. Had a lovely Cosy double room and it was perfect. Breakfast was included which I hadn't expected and it was great without being too much best of all it was fresh and hot! All staff were friendly and open wish I could have stayed longer!

I stayed one night for a business trip. The hotel is lovely, really nice decor. The staff are all fantastic, very professional & friendly. I ate in the restaurant - the steak was delicious & the bar is a lovely place to sit & relax, the barman makes a great Cosmopolitan. The only downside for me was the memory foam mattress I found a bit hard as I'm used to a softer one at home but I will definitely stay there again

BEWARE - I booked double dulex room. They gave me a tiny room with barley any space to walk. Nothing dulex about it. This is the SECOND time this has happened. It’s a shame as Winstanly is a great place with great views and walk. Staff are externally friendly because, They are giving you a rubbish room

We would be most grateful if you could contact the hotel to give us more details, as our double deluxe rooms are not tiny as you have described. Did you perhaps book the Single deluxe room, which is the smallest room inn the hotel? This room has a double bed in it, as opposed to our double deluxe rooms which all have king size beds. Our are always friendly as they enjoy working at the beautiful hotel, and enjoy providing excellent service to our guests

Stayed at Winstanley House for a wedding. Rooms we’re spacious which made getting ready easy, our bathroom was also massive, with a separate shower & bath. Beds are huge & very comfy.The grounds are beautiful, a perfect setting for a summer wedding. Would definitely stay again.
