Decent hotel

Central location, good facilities, friendly staff. Rooms, particularly bathrooms are a bit shabby and need an update.

Last minute booking, overnight stay for a show, so not my usual big standard hotel. Very impressed, wonderful reception area with real people not machines. Beautiful quiet room, fully appointed. Breakfast served till twelve, room checkout not till two so no feeling rushed. Pleasurable stay.

First time visiting Leeds and what a great hotel to spend my stay at. So close to the centre and amenities with trinity just across the road, lovely modern room with everything you need. Will definetly be visiting again very soon!

Good location

Posted 15-May-2017
The hotel reception is very nice, the staff are very welcoming. The room itself was quite disappointing, we have stopped in several hotels in the area and in contrast the rooms here are rather dated. Plus the bathroom was stained and quite grimy. You can see where there has been attempts to scraped the dirt from around the bath area but with little success. Four star is not a fitting description of the room we stayed in (214 to be precise). Related our findings to the reception staff who assured us they would look into it. Will go elsewhere next time. Disappointed.

Location excellent for central Leeds.

Location: Ideal central location but was difficult to find.
Check in took a while as very busy at reception. Very noisy in public areas but fortunately bedroom area was acceptable.

Poorest Marriott I've ever been to!!!!

Posted 06-May-2017
1. Female dressing rooms in the spa area were disgustingly dirty and a health hazard 2. The swimming pool and jacuzzi on th lower ground floor, contained too much chlorine which would sting your eyes and smelled throughout the hotel including our room on the 4th floor 3. There was an inconvenient wall next to the bed which I bumped into several times at night and hurt my toe 4. The hotel was old and there were stairs on each floor level which is inconvenient for luggage 5. Carpets throughout the hotel were old dusty and smelly and doors were rotting away in the swimming pool area 6. The grill restaurant only had 3 grill dishes 7. Upon arrival to our executive room had limited amnesties including no slippers, little toilet paper 8. The shower was old and the bath tub was small, I hit my head on the ceiling when in the shower 9. When you have to stay in Leeds perhaps one of the better hotels but definitely not worth the Marriott name. 9. You cannot add Marriott points if you book via Expedia!!!! 10. The hotel is a rip off for £160/night so moved to the Novotel down the road for £69/night!!!

Good Location for City

Posted 02-May-2017
Pros: Location Breakfast
Cons: Provide ear plugs for the rooms affected by the noise
Location: Very central location. Near shops and lots of bars and restuarants
Door would not lock and TV did not work on arrival. Both sorted while we went out. Terrible noise from bar near by until 12.00. Just could not get to sleep until it stopped. Breakfast really good. Not our best experience at this hotel.

Noisey room.

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Cons: Less noise
We were only here for 1 night luckily, the hotel was nice and the breakfast was excellent and the staff serving the breakfast were all very friendly and helpful. The problem was the noise coming from outside into our bedroom, the air con or fans from the kitchen were on the back of our room and there was a constant buzzing sound and on the morning around 7am the noise got worse and even the windows were vibrating with the noise which made it worse so not much sleep. We were going to complain when we left but the staff didn't even bother to ask if we had a nice stay or if everything had been alright. It wasn't cheap for a one night stay and thought it would have been better than it was.
