♡ Add to your trip board so you can find it again.

    The Space:

Sleeps 6 across 3 bedrooms on the top floor of Old St. Vincent's, an early-1900s Leadville hospital converted to condos. Three blocks off Harrison Avenue. 14-ft ceilings, exposed brick, original wood floors, and picture windows facing Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive.

    ➔ Living + Dining

Open room under 14-ft ceilings with a wall of windows facing the Sawatch Range. Gas fireplace, TV, dining table for four. A door closes it off from the bedroom hall.

    ➔ Kitchen

Electric range and oven, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, and stocked cooking basics.

    ➔ Bedroom 1 — 1 king bed

Iron bed frame, dresser on each side, room-darkening shades, mountain view.

    ➔ Bedroom 2 — 1 queen bed

Pine armoire, three windows, and a desk in the corner — the dedicated workspace, in a room with a door.

    ➔ Bedroom 3 — 1 queen bed

Arched historic window with a straight-on mountain view, dresser, reading lamp.

    ➔ Bathrooms

1 full bathroom with exposed brick and a soaking tub; 1 half bathroom.

    ➔ Entry + Building

Private entrance, keypad self check-in, free garage parking on site for two vehicles, free washer and dryer in the building. No elevator — the loft is on the third floor.

    3 Pros

✓ Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive — Colorado's two highest peaks — visible from inside the unit

✓ Three bedrooms with doors that close; walk to downtown Leadville

✓ Historic building with brick, preserved woodwork, and 14-ft windows intact

    2 Cons

✗ Old windows and thin insulation — the loft runs cold on a winter night. Gas fireplace, wall and baseboard heaters, closet space heaters, and extra blankets are provided; January guests report staying warm using them.

✗ Third floor, no elevator. Stairs at 10,152 ft is a workout with luggage.

    Guest Access:

The entire third-floor loft is yours — all three bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, and the living and dining room. Nothing is shared and no host is on site.

Let yourself in with a keypad code through the building's original stained-glass entry. Free garage parking on site for up to two vehicles; any additional cars park free on the street. A free washer and dryer are available in the building.

There is no elevator — the loft is on the third floor, reached by stairs.

    The Neighborhood:

Downtown Leadville, three blocks off Harrison Avenue — restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and outfitters all within walking distance. Leadville sits at 10,152 ft, the highest incorporated city in North America.

Healy House Museum and Ice Palace Park are a short walk. FREIGHT, the converted train depot event venue, is next door; groups have booked this loft for a wedding there and walked back.

The Mineral Belt Trail is an 11.6-mile paved loop around town, with trailheads within walking distance — biking and running in summer, groomed Nordic skiing and fat biking in winter.

Ski Cooper is 15 minutes up US-24. Copper Mountain is 23 miles over Fremont Pass. Vail is 44 miles. Turquoise Lake, Twin Lakes, and the Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive trailheads are all short drives.

The old rail depot next door means a train may be audible during the day; one January guest noted they never heard it after 9pm.

    Getting Around:

You can leave the car parked for most of a weekend. Harrison Avenue — Leadville's main street — is three blocks away, and the Mineral Belt Trail has trailheads within walking distance.

    Driving from the loft:

» Ski Cooper — 15 minutes north on US-24 over Tennessee Pass

» Copper Mountain — 23 miles over Fremont Pass

    » Vail — 44 miles

    » Denver — 100 miles

» Turquoise Lake, Twin Lakes, and the Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive trailheads — all short drives west and south

Free garage parking on site for two vehicles; any additional cars park free on the street. Winter driving over Fremont and Tennessee passes is easier with all-wheel drive or snow tires.

    Other Things to Note:

    STR License Number 003076

    HEAT AND THE BUILDING

This is a historic building with original windows and limited insulation, so the loft gets cold on winter days. We provide a gas fireplace, electric baseboard and wall-mounted heaters throughout, space heaters in the closets, and extra blankets. Guests who stayed in January reported staying warm using them — but come prepared for a cold building, not a new one.

There is no air conditioning. At 10,152 ft, Leadville nights cool off on their own.

The baseboard heaters get hot to the touch. If you're traveling with small children, please make sure they don't touch them.

BUILDING AND HOA RULES (Old Saint Vincent)

✔ This property is NOT pet friendly.

✔ Old St. Vincent's is a smoke-free building — including all unit balconies and all stairways and entryways.

✔ Parking is limited to two vehicles per unit. Additional vehicles must park on the street.

✔ No RVs, boats, or trailer campers may be parked in the parking lot.

    ACCESS

There is no elevator in this building — the loft is on the third floor and you will be walking up and down stairs. Worth planning for if you're arriving with an infant, small children, or a lot of luggage.

    LONGER STAYS

For stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional cleaning charge applies; the amount is shown in your booking terms. It keeps the home comfortable and clean for the length of your stay.

    ALTITUDE

Altitude sickness is real. Leadville and Twin Lakes sit above 10,000 feet, and symptoms can include dizziness and nausea. Please plan for it. We can't offer refunds for guests affected by altitude, so if you think you may be, we recommend buying travel insurance when you book.

    MOUNTAIN LIVING

Staying in the mountains means being closer to nature, and you may occasionally encounter local wildlife, insects, or small critters. Please keep doors closed when you can. We've taken thorough measures to keep your stay undisturbed.

    CHECK-IN INFORMATION

You'll receive an email with a link to our digital guidebook. That link is the only place check-in information lives, and it's also where you can request extras and upgraded services.

    Interaction with Guests:

The loft is entirely yours — private entrance, keypad code, no host on site.

We're reachable by message throughout your stay and we answer fast. If anything isn't right — cleanliness, heat, WiFi, anything — tell us while you're still here and we'll fix it rather than have you discover it in a review.

Climbing something? Ask us. We regularly point guests toward an acclimatization hike before they head up Elbert, Massive, or Huron, and we're happy to do it for you.
