The weather was great with a few rain showers to cool the afternoons a bit. Close to the town of Lead where we had breakfast at one of the casinos that had a 0.79 special each day. The hills and foliage offer peace and quiet, wrapping you in a cocoon of relaxation. We loved sitting on the deck listening to the babble of a small creek’s waterfall. The kitchen has everything you need, nice bathrooms and smart TVs. If you are sensitive to scents bring your own shower supplies. Look for wildlife just off the deck; we saw deer. The sauna was not available but we didn’t miss it. If you're looking for a family fun ski get-away, this is a great option. The house is located about 5 minutes from Terry Peak Ski Resort, a quick easy drive. It's quiet and secluded but easy access to roads, plenty of space for cooking and conversation and beautiful views to wake up to. The host was easy to communicate with and had quick response time. Spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, it had everything we needed after long days of riding— a spacious primary with en suite, 2 other decently sized rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and lots of room to relax both indoors and out. The outdoor sauna was a total hit, especially in the evenings after winding through the hills all day.We brought our motor bikes and spent the week riding The Needles and Iron Mountain Road, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, Mount Rushmore, and all the scenic routes in between. Coming back to the cabin each night felt like a retreat—quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, yet close enough to everything we needed. We really enjoyed our coffee with the deer around the cabin each morning. The hosts were great to deal with and made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish.
