Au Cordouan

A nice little apartment on the ground floor of a building close to the town centre, but with all the shops on the ground floor, including a laundromat, so you don't need a car. (We recommend the Cantine restaurant for its takeaway fries, the supermarket for morning croissants, and the florist while you're there to brighten up your morning). The apartment was comfortable enough for us, with firm, quality beds for a good night's sleep (linens are provided but must remain in the apartment). A parking space can be made available if needed. From here, you can easily reach the beaches, hiking trails, the forest, and visit Pointe de Grave and its restaurants. For beaches, you have the choice between La Chambrette, which is suitable for young children, or the large ocean beach with its wide open spaces and sense of freedom, but be aware of rip currents. We honestly recommend these two beaches rather than the building's swimming pool. From the point, you can take the ferry on foot to Royan and perhaps catch a film. Behind the residence, the SNCF train station and its TER regional train can also take you to Bordeaux. At the port, you'll also find everything you need for boat trips and a visit to the famous Cordouan, where you can admire magnificent graffiti. Just like at Pointe de Grave, you can rent bicycles and take the little tourist train, which will take you to Soulac in the summer. There, you can also enjoy its streets and its covered market to buy fresh local produce. Enjoy the evenings at the old oyster port and its exhibitions. For anything else, don't hesitate to visit the tourist office team.
