The rooms are hit and miss. I booked the base room from a third party site, expedia and you at least expect to get the room in the photos. Upon check-in before I could even slip them a $50 tip (I've heard they will give you a nicer room upgrade but not guaranteed) they said that they upgraded my room to a suite. Surprised, I still gave her the tip and said thank you. Upon entering the room, we realized our "upgrade" was a wheel chair accessible room meaning more space but the shower was extremely too small and no curtain. The lights were also flickering, I found hair stuck to the carpet and couches, and the fridge was broken. The room also reeked, I couldn't tell if it was excessive cigarette smoke that I am extremely sensitive to or reminiscence of throw up; it was horrid. They were fully booked and giving away peoples rooms to others. I know this because even on our first check in experience she was on the phone with someone before assigning our room and whispering, I can't give them that room because this person gave it to someone else etc. I ended up going back down to check in telling them about the room and they were able to put us in a new room in the ruby tower; the previous one was the canyon tower (do not book these they are disguising). Our new room was a beautiful suite, night and day from the last one. Overall, I would not stay here again. The pool/beach club are overpriced and boring, the bartender at the main bar is rude. Food is meh.
