(192 reviews) This hotel is so impeccably designed and the restaurant is 5-star. We loved our room, to the point I was taking pictures to incorporate design elements at home. Bocana Beach is very quiet, but a gorgeous place for a long walk. The hotel restaurant is so good, but there are also a couple of places right on the beach if you want cheap eats or a drink. 2 minutes away is a nice park where you can see some ruins and get a little exercise. We rented a car, so it was easy for us to travel to different beaches and bays, which were beautiful. I highly recommend Organa for something kinda secluded (a 10-minute flat hike out) and La Entrega for families (there are restaurants and seating, plus very very calm water) We come from NYC, so we are used to noise. If you aren't, then the roosters crowing outside the hotel in the early morning may bother you. It didn't bother us. I'm sure if you sleep with the door closed and the A/C on (we slept with screen door open), then it wouldn't be as loud. Just something to be aware of if you are hyper sensitive to noise. There is a lot of development happening in the area near the hotel, but we never heard noise that bothered us. (152 reviews) Gorgeous rooms and amazing service. Solomon and Antonio make sure you’re well taken care of. Anything we needed was taken care of really promptly. Rooms are spotless, and AC works well. A few major negatives though: The door to our room didn’t lock. We raised this the first day and they looked at it and acknowledged it didn’t lock, but took no steps towards fixing it. So our room was just unlocked the whole stay. Thankfully, the property has a locking gate, but still, we were women traveling and it didn’t feel safe to sleep with the door unlocked and leaving all our stuff in the room when we were out. This is really unacceptable for a property at this price. The room design gives only 50% privacy in the shower. That is, the wall around the shower only covers your bottom half. Hopefully you’re traveling with a romantic partner; I wasn’t and now know my friend a lot better than we ever intended. I know this is a trendy layout for Instagrammable hotels, but it’s really not practical or convenient. And finally, this is advertised as an adults only property, but there was a family staying there with kids, and one looked to be around 10 years old. Oddly, the food at breakfast was great, but dinner was underwhelming, but there are other options within walking distance. I mention negatives so people will know what they’re getting into, but overall, we had a fantastic time. We really loved this hotel and would stay again if we can guarantee a room with a lock on it!
