The hotel staff asked for 1000 PHP as deposit and promised to give it back once checked out. We gave the exact amount but they did not provide us a claim stub, a deposit slip, or whatever you call it. On the day we checked out, the staff denied that we gave her a thousand pesos as deposit. We left the place hurriedly and didn't fight for the money, scared of what possible things they could do to us if we fought for it. We were too trusting I guess. We didn't mind maybe because some of the hotels where we stayed in Cebu also asked for deposit and do not issue deposit slips; but, they never failed to return what was rightfully ours.
