"Attention needs to be given to the following: sliding door to bathroom not running smoothly and basin does not hold water. The bed was most comfortable. Appreciated being able to park our vehicle under the carport."

"Ararat Hotel is a beautiful old building with 30 foot something ceilings. It's architecture and old world charm is immensely impressive. It operates like a hostel or an old boarding house. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of communal bathrooms and kitchens, but the bedroom was clean and warm on one of the coldest nights in Ararat this year. Thank you"

"The property is exactly what we needed, quiet, serene and isolated. The cabin itself was extremely well provisioned and catered for almost everything you could want. Unfortunately we encountered a couple of really extreme heat days which highlighted the lack of sufficient cooling options inside (which is completely understandable given the off grid nature of the property) but once the sun receded, and the cooling breeze swept through everything was picture perfect. The views of the Grampians at sunset from the deck are absolutely breathtaking! Our third night was a direct contrast in heat and we were able to make the most of the gorgeous wood fire heater and comfortable recliners whilst still enjoying the exquisite views of the Grampians. The host, Catherine was a brilliant communicator and made our stay very enjoyable. A further highlight of the property are the friendly and approachable horses who will literally “flock you like a rockstar” for a pat and if you happen to have a few carrots on hand will happily follow you around in search of more pats and snacks. Overall, a wonderful place we would definitely return to and highly recommend!! "
