Situated in the shadow of Mt. Sturgeon The Royal Mail Hotel offers a choice of accommodation to suit all type of visitors. On a recent trip I stayed in the One Bedroom Apartment and it was more like a home. An abundance of space over two levels and simply yet adequately furnished to make it feel like home away from home. The Garden Cottages are more compact but still very, very roomy. Duikelt is small but there are a few options for food, from breakfast to dinner. If you don't want to leave the Royal Mail grounds then I highly recommend the onsite casual dining restaurant, the Parker St Project. Don't let 'causal dining' fool you - the menu is intriguing, and the food excellent. If one person can create this dream imagine what could be done with small country towns if people of similar circumstances did likewise. It creates employment, encourages tourism and prevents these towns from becoming ghost towns, I will be back , with my wife and a few friends , to enjoy the experience all over again. The restaurant was worth every penny, even if we did need lots of pennies. We compare the hotel's restaurant favourably against the Berowra Waters Inn on the Hawkesbury River north of Sydney.
