Our lovingly furnished and luxuriously equipped holiday home (non-smoking, 90 square metres, 1 living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms; accommodates up to 4 adults) is situated in a very quiet location near Lake Neuensien on a property of approximately 2,000 square metres. The thatched-roof house was built in 1999 in the traditional Vorpommern style typical of the region. It is located on the outskirts of the village of Lancken-Granitz, near Sellin. The kilometer-long, fine-sand beach on the Baltic Sea is only about 4 km away. From the holiday home, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of nature in the heart of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve. The uniqueness of this landscape has therefore been placed under special protection by UNESCO. The renowned Baltic Sea resorts of Binz, Sellin, and Baabe are in the immediate vicinity. The lush, well-maintained property is perfect for sunbathing, barbecuing, or playing. Comfortable patio furniture with cushions and a beach chair are available on the 30-square-meter, sun-drenched, and wind-protected southwest-facing terrace. The view of nature is unique, and the tranquility is soothing. The holiday home has repeatedly been awarded four stars by the DTV (German Tourism Association) and offers its guests free Wi-Fi. There is a daily bread roll delivery service, and bicycles can be rented in town. Upon your arrival, fresh towels will be provided, and the beds will already be made with linens. Two parking spaces are located directly at the holiday home, which is attached to the Herzberg family’s main house. Rental bicycles can be delivered directly to the property upon request. Storage space for bicycles is available. The public transit bus stop is approximately 800 metres away. Our property is centrally located yet quiet, near the Baltic Sea—ideal for nature lovers, those seeking peace and quiet, and dog lovers. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome upon request; a pet fee applies.

A warm welcome from the Herzberg family to our thatched cottage in the biosphere reserve! We were born and raised in Schleswig-Holstein and have been working in tourism since 1991. We’ve had the privilege of gaining valuable experience working for a renowned tourism company in Spain and Austria, spending several years in Turkey, and now here on the island of Rügen—and we know what it means to be “hosts with a heart.” In 1997, we were able to purchase this beautiful property on our dream island and, with the help of a local architect, built our thatched-roof house, where we are now delighted to welcome you.

Located in the most beautiful and diverse region of Rügen, our holiday home is nestled in the heart of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, right in the hiking and biking area, and just a few minutes’ drive from the renowned Baltic Sea resorts of Binz and Sellin. The following attractions are in the immediate vicinity: Neuensiener See (400 m), Granitz Hunting Lodge (1.2 km), and megalithic tombs (1.2 km). Attention cyclists: From our holiday home, you’ll have fantastic opportunities to go on unforgettable bike rides. We’d be happy to show you the best routes on a cycling map!! Particularly suitable for nature lovers, families with children, hikers and cyclists, those seeking peace and quiet, and dog owners. A doctor’s office, pharmacy, restaurants, and shopping options (bakery, supermarket) are about a 5-minute drive away.
