Lampedusa is calling! Discover its parks, monuments, beaches and more.

Naturally, the sea and the beaches are one of the main attractions of the island, but there are many natural wonders like the birth of the sea turtles, a sacred rite that occurs every August on Conigli Beach. There are so many things to do in this sustainable tourism destination. Holiday packages to Lampedusa offer many options for organising your stay in the most Mediterranean corner of Italy.

You can plan your days on the island of Lampedusa in many different ways. The most traditional is undoubtedly relaxing on one of the fabulously white beaches and diving into the crystal clear sea, but sport lovers can also opt for a game of golf, go on bike excursions and try their hand at fishing or jogging, highly recommended in the morning and at dusk, surrounded by the unique colours and play of light between the sun and the sea. During the summer season, many fishermen are ready to turn into expert guides and take you to discover the island's small inlets, which may only be accessible by sea, and where the secrets of this place are unveiled between a simple meal and a chat cradled by the waves.

The unspoilt nature of the island urges you to explore corners of paradise, like the Guitgia Beach, the area of Mare Morto and Cala Madonna. Don't forget Cala Croce, which boasts beautifully clean sand and seawater with incredible nuances of colour. Last but not least, there is Cala Pulcino, which is like a small oasis in an azure sea. Guitgia is still the beach with the greatest number of services, as it is close to town, while Cala Madonna boasts an outstanding sea and seabed, which offer excellent points from which to observe marine flora and fauna.

The gem of Lampedusa and the Pelagie Islands is Conigli Island, famous because it is here that each year the turtles choose to reproduce. The beach is on the island's nature reserve, nestled between rocky ridges, almost entirely free from vegetation and characterised by marl terracing that encloses the magnificent Tabaccara Grotto. The sea at this beach is uniquely beautiful, with water that takes on every shade of turquoise. To get to Conigli Beach you have to take the road that leads from the town to Cape Ponente. After travelling for about 6 km, you have to leave your car to take a path that can only be travelled by foot. After a few hundred metres you'll reach a terrace from which there is a splendid panoramic view of the entire beach. The seashore is down the slope from there.

On the south side of the island, Cala Pulcino is a short distance from Conigli Island. This beach has blinding white sand and a stunning crystal clear sea. The beach is also surrounded by various grottoes and ravines which render the landscape even more evocative. You have to follow the road to Cape Ponente and then proceed on foot. It's easier to reach by sea.

The sun, the sea, delicious fresh fish specialities and old-fashioned hospitality will make your holiday in Lampedusa unforgettable.
