The best area to stay in Lamhara is the Medina, which is the historic heart of the city. The Medina is a bustling, walled district filled with narrow, winding alleyways, traditional souks (markets), and Riads – traditional Moroccan houses converted into guesthouses. The main square, Djemaa el-Fna, is a well-known landmark within the Medina, transforming into a lively spectacle of food stalls and performers in the evenings. It's a very walkable area where you'll find much of Lamhara's cultural heritage. For couples looking for a romantic and culturally rich experience, staying in a Riad within the Medina is ideal. Many Riads offer beautiful courtyards, rooftop terraces, and a sense of calm away from the busy streets, providing an authentic and intimate stay. You'll be right on the doorstep of historical sites and traditional dining.Families might find the Hivernage district more suitable. This area is more modern, with wider streets and a more relaxed pace than the Medina. It's known for its larger, more contemporary hotels that often feature swimming pools and gardens.

The best time to visit Lamhara is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is pleasantly warm and ideal for exploring.During these months, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 28°C, with plenty of sunshine and minimal rainfall. This makes it superb for activities like exploring the bustling souks, visiting historical sites, or enjoying the desert landscapes without the intense heat of summer or the cooler evenings of winter. It's a great time for couples and families alike to enjoy outdoor excursions and cultural experiences. The summer months (June to August) can be very hot, often exceeding 35°C, which might be less comfortable for sightseeing, particularly for those not accustomed to high temperatures. While hotels often have air conditioning and pools, exploring during midday can be challenging.Winter (December to February) offers milder daytime temperatures, usually around 18-22°C, but evenings can be chilly, dropping to 5-10°C. While still a good time for those looking to escape colder climates, some desert activities might be less comfortable due to the cooler nights.
