The best area to stay in Lalla Aaziza is within the Medina, particularly around the main square of Jemaa el-Fnaa, to truly experience the city's unique character. The Medina is the historic heart of Lalla Aaziza, a UNESCO World Heritage site characterised by its narrow, winding alleyways, called derbs, and traditional riad guesthouses. Jemaa el-Fnaa is the bustling central square, transforming from a vibrant market during the day to an open-air food spectacle at night. Staying within walking distance of this square means you're right in the thick of the action.Couples looking for a romantic escape will find the riads within the Medina particularly appealing. These traditional Moroccan homes, often converted into boutique hotels, offer secluded courtyards, rooftop terraces, and a sense of calm away from the busy streets. Many are tucked away down quiet derbs, providing an intimate setting within easy reach of the main attractions. For those wanting a slightly more contemporary experience with easy access to the Medina, the Hivernage district offers a good balance. It's just a short taxi ride or a pleasant walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa and features larger, more modern hotels.

The best time to visit Lalla Aaziza is during the spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November) when the weather is most pleasant.During these months, the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius, making it ideal for exploring the city's sights and enjoying outdoor activities without the intense heat of summer or the cooler evenings of winter. You'll find the gardens and landscapes at their most vibrant, and the overall experience of walking through the souks and visiting historical sites is much more enjoyable. For travellers who enjoy a comfortable climate for sightseeing and outdoor relaxation, these periods offer the great balance. You can comfortably spend your days discovering the Medina, visiting the Bahia Palace, or strolling through the Majorelle Garden. This is particularly good for couples seeking a romantic getaway, as the evenings are mild enough for al fresco dining. If your priority is avoiding crowds and you don't mind slightly cooler temperatures, late autumn (November) or early spring (March) can also be excellent choices. While the evenings might require a light jacket, the daytime is still very agreeable, and you'll often find fewer tourists at popular attractions.
