This is a large and beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to Lake Shasta. The house is very clean and is described well in VRBO. It's definitely a 5 star accommodation. I knocked the check-in process down one start since the front door lock was stuck and it took a while for us to get into the house the first time. It's been fixed.
The location was perfect for boating. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our family of eight. It was spacious enough so we didn't feel crowded. We enjoyed spending time together on the large patio in the mornings and evenings. Seeing deer while having coffee in the morning was a bonus. Marc was quick to respond to any questions I had. Very clean home with plenty of food storage (3 refrigerators)! Located in a quiet cul-de-sac. The deck offers more space to enjoy a meal, bbq, and conversation. Top notch amenities with granite countertops and upgraded appliances. The lake was about 30 feet down, so we anchored our boats near the marina. However, if the lake was full, we would have immediate access directly from the backyard.
We have camped and houseboated on this lake a few times, but are now spoiled by this trip to definitely return in the future. Thank you to our gracious hosts!

Unforgettable lake views, fully updated, large home that easily houses 11 adults.
The entire family thoroughly enjoyed our week in this beautiful house. The entire, lake facing, wall is windows with breathtaking lake views. Power window shades made it easy to block the sun in the morning. We used the full deck daily. It's a very short, level walk to the lake shore. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost for the week as it was comparable to other houses we stayed in that paled in comparison. We tied our boat at the shore behind the house and had no problems at all with it. We'd highly recommend this house to a family looking to enjoy some lake time together.
We’ve stayed at this home multiple times over the years and it continues to be a favorite for our family. The location truly can’t be beat—just steps from the lake, and if you’re keeping a boat at Sugarloaf like we did, it’s an easy walk or a very short drive.The house itself is spacious with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to comfortably accommodate a large group. There’s tons of room to spread out and relax, and the air conditioning keeps everything cool even on hot summer days.One of our favorite things is the well-stocked kitchen—it has everything you could need to cook and dine in, which makes the stay even more enjoyable. The house also has Starlink internet, which is a nice perk since there’s no cell service in the area (something to keep in mind if you're relying on mobile data).It was pretty clean during our stay—clean enough for us—but it may not meet the expectations of guests who are particularly picky about spotless conditions. Still, it’s been consistent enough over the years that we’re happy to keep returning.We love this home and will absolutely continue to come back year after year. It’s the perfect base for enjoying the lake, spending time with family, and making summer memories.
