Lake Tekapo is around 3 hours in between Christchurch and Queenstown. It is a perfect spot to stop in between and enjoy the stargazing at Mackenzie High Country.

Great place for a quick stay in Lake Tahoe. Easy to get downtown and to the observatory. A bit Spartan, but perfectly clean.
