This could be a problem if you are not lucky or prepared. One month cancellation policy is onerous and inflexible. If there is any chance that your travel plans might change then book the incredible YHA. My Milford Track hike was canceled by flooding forcing a complete redesign of my itinerary but Skyrim was unwilling to let me move my dates or cancel. Once you are at Skyrim the rooms are great. The only glitch was a stove which would not work until the power was removed and restored.
