It's super close to the hike to the top. Close to the village. The place was clean besides some stains on the carpets. It got a little noisy in the hallway at night with some other guests and def park on the left of the building because the people that live there def don't want tourists over there. Beautiful location.
Clean perfectly acceptable condo only minutes walk from the village.
Standard one bedroom rental condo with small decently equipped kitchen and bath (incl dishwasher and full size fridge). Photos true to form! Walkout sliding doors give right onto the parking lot, so not much of a view. . Convenient parking. Everything very clean. Lighting pretty poor, and some new towels would be great. Didn't try the TV, but the Internet worked fine. Location is great, minutes by foot to the village and Shirley Canyon trailhead. I had some trouble making the 2nd payment, asi never received an email, and two rental agencies seemed involved.
Condo was centrally located - within walking distance to everything. Check-in was smooth. The condo/property was clean, kitchen was well stocked, bed was comfortable, and the parking was plentiful. We would stay here again.
We stayed in the village to be close to the Broken Arrow Skyrace. It is convenient and has everything we needed. Be sure to have some change for the laundry.
The location of this property was great. Unfortunately, the pictures are not what you actually get. The pictures show a nice spacious bedroom, but upon arrival, there is a bunk bed shoved in there as well. They say it is there in the description, but do not show it in the pictures. There were also some cleanliness issues unfortunately. The patio is not usable either, it is very dirty and the furniture is old. Again, loved the location, but not great for how much they charge.
This was an incredible experience overall. The view next to the creek was breathtaking. Right in the heart of olympic valley and central to everything. There is a couple of reasons this is getting four stars.
1. The resident manager decided to walk up to the open sliding door and practically come inside the condo while my pregnant wife is sleeping and he proceeded to communicate with a high tone that we were parked in the wrong spot but I was only offloading our baggage. This was very rude and inconsiderate.
2. The bed was very uncomfortable and was like sleeping on a rock.
3. The internet was terrible and my 2 bar service worked better on my phone.
Overall great experience but those were a few challenges.
When I was booking this property, I knew it was close to Palisades Tahoe, but I had know idea it was within a walking distance (about 5 minutes with walking shoes, 10 minutes with ski boots).
I stayed during the infamous December blizzard of 2021, and as a perk, my family was able to ski (cross country style) from the property to the resort.
The property is small but has all the necessary amenities. It's warm, but be sure to reprogram the thermostat when you arrive as they are set to 58 degrees (and reset to 58 when you check out. Kitchen is recently upgraded and sofa bed is comfy.
Parking is not covered, so you need to move the car for the snow cleaning crew.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in
Good, extra paperwork
The process to finalize booking and extra paperwork upfront was bothersome, and the property was ready early in the day but checking in early would still incur an extra fee. Otherwise, great location (walking distance to shops and restaurants).
We had a great 4 night stay here! Location was great, walkable to Squaw Valley Resort restaurants. Very modern and clean kitchen and living room area.

Not the best
Property is in a good location, close to Squaw Peak and has easy access to the Shirley Creek trail head. This is where the benefits end. There were far more negatives than positives.
Air circulation in the condo was very poor. Only 2 VERY loud fans were provided for help with this. It was stuffy, even when the windows were open. The "front" door opens into a building that is closed, so little airflow can occur. When you open the windows, you are subjected to the very loud guests from other locations within this complex and other complexes in very close proximity.
The interior looks like it has been "decorated" by picking up the cheapest items at garage sales in the 80's. Nothing matches, everything is old and the bed has crayon/marker scribbles all over it. There was also a dirty mask left by the bed.
Rental income seems to be the priority here, not the guests' comfort or enjoyment. It appears that a very minimal renovation has occurred, at some point. That said, the stove is good enough, the fridge is very cold and the oven is hot, to the point of being hotter than the temperature given...so watch your food closely. Shower has good pressure.
The condo lacked in amenities I have found standard in every other VRBO we have rented: no dish towels, floor rugs (especially in bath where it is very slick and dangerous to exit the shower), hair dryer and bathroom soap.
There were ice trays in the freezer, but no ice. I made sure to fill them for the next guests before we left, since the cleaning staff apparently doesn't do this.
There is a small patio area with a tiny table and 2 chairs. It was nice to be able to sit outside, since inside was so uncomfortable. But, this area faces the parking lot, so there are cars literally parked right next to the patio.
This is a great place for a bunch of 20-somethings who are looking to have a ski weekend or a vacation on the lake and who don't care about amenities. Looks like this place could sleep a bunch of college kids who don't mind pull-outs and sleeping bags. Probably a great party place for skiers in the winter. There were a lot of other young parties making lots of noise and carrying on at 2 am on each of the weekend nights, regardless of the 10 pm "noise curfew."
Not a great place for families with kids who need to sleep or a couple looking to relax. Definitely a place for the less discerning younger generation on a budget.
We had everything we needed. The condo was perfect for two adults and our two kids ages 12 and 15 who slept on the living room pullout couch. Families with smaller children would be very comfortable here as well. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed including coffee maker which is a must for us. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from just a short walk from the condo. We will be back!
