Cozy cabin that's great for large gathering. The lost with bunks was the best! Kids had a fun sleepover. Kitchen was fully stocked and plenty of seating throughout.
We've stayed here several times and love the group / family trip vibes. Very casual environment but has everything you need for a cozy and comfortable trip.
The house is cozy and comfortable with a beautiful view and balcony. Adults, teens and kids enjoyed sledding down the hill on the property and walking around the lake. Ski rental shops and ski resorts are nearby. We cooked a lot in the kitchen, which is fairly well equipped. Heating and WiFi are good; we especially enjoyed sitting around the pellet stove-heated living area with its lovely view. The owners were very responsive and allowed us to use their power generator during the power outages this winter. This is our second time spending a week here over Christmas break and we plan to come back! We will bring more TP next time, though.
Wonderful, peaceful getaway! Beautiful location right across from the lake with a close dock to go in kayaks and paddle boards. The hosts graciously let us use their canoe and other fun equipment. The kids could ride bikes in the street with very little traffic. We even had lots of wiffle ball games in the street too. It was a wonderful vacation!
Had a nice time. Place is situated right across the street from the lake. Plenty of room for 12+ people and nice place to cook and grill, especially out on the patio
The house was clean and the location is great. The kids had a great time and especially enjoyed the loft. The only complaint that we had was the beds, the mattresses seemed old and were not comfortable. But other than that we really enjoyed our stay there.
Our group of 4 families enjoyed the area and the house. There is walking, skiing and snow play close by, a well-equipped kitchen with a large table and lots of DVDs to watch in the cozy living room with a lovely balcony and view on the snowy forest and lake.
We had a great time in the property. It was clean & very spacious for our party of 15. The kids had a fun time sledding and playing in the snow right outside. It was beautiful and relaxing.
The home is comfortable and warm for our 6 adult & 5 children's yearly winter fun. Hosts are responsive, helpful, prompt, and nice. Everything we need (except food & drink) are provided. We create and enjoy our own sled run on the property. We stay cozy inside playing games and being together creating memories.
My daughter (in her late 20's) stayed with some friends from out of town to celebrate her birthday. The place was in a great location and very close to several local outings. The place was clean and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this place for a large group. Had everything needed to make the weekend special.
We had three generations stay at the Capone cabin this weekend. It was our third time using this comfortable cabin, located in the midst of the Sierra Nevada's natural wonders. A beautiful lake to canoe/kayak, a charming swimming beach and park area, and quiet rural lanes to ride on bicycle. Everyone had a great time, and we were all sad to leave.
Great location, was accessible with all the snow, property behind for sledding, plenty of room for parking. No surprises, web site was accurate for amenities. Lots of extra gear for winter and summer play. Wonderful!
The property was more than we expected, it was very welcoming had alot of space for all of our family to be somewhere doing something. Was a great experience overall, down to the communication with the host.
This is our family's third stay at the spacious Capone House. We enjoyed the recent upgrades and found the home to be overall cleaner than previous arrivals. The kitchen is well-appointed and had all the cookware and serving pieces needed for our large family meals. Weather was great and we enjoyed hours each day on the deck overlooking the lake. The neighborhood is quiet and the community very kind and welcoming.
The house had everything we needed, kids enjoyed bunkbeds , lower floor was great for family which brought grandparents. There was enough plates cups etc for our large group. Particularly liked mult hooks on walls in bedrooms to hang ski clothes to dry. Dining table was impressively sufficient for mult adults.
Fantastic in every way. Ski out the door up the hills behind. Cross the road to ski on the lake. All five bedrooms fine with 4 of them very nice. 4 of us used the skis provided. Book collection good. (Didn’t find any games or puzzles so bring them if you want) Kitchen very nicely equipped. Nice big oven. Lots of pans
One of the most beautiful locations in Soda Springs on a 'Serene Lake" very comminicative and warm host.We were 12 and the place was good for all of us with all the ammenties needed. Wifi worked great.Only feedback from some in the group was a few beds were not "firm".. other than that we had a great time. Kitchen was well equipped, grill was good and the host was kind to trust us with the canoe and bikes which some of us used.Even though it was a surprisingly cold wave - we got flurries in June... some of us ventured and took the boast out. It was very nice and the lake is calming.the neighbood is very friendly too with a mix of owners and renters.Thank you for sharing the property with us
I was a little apprehensive about our stay since I had never stayed at a VRBO before and had no idea what to do or expect. Before I booked, I was messaging questions to the owner and she was extremely helpful which made me comfortable enough to book. The communication from the beginning to the end was top notch. It was exactly as presented, fit all of us (14) ranging from adults, pre-teen, kids and baby, comfortably. The snow was in abundance and we all had a great time. We definitely planning on doing this again and would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay at the Capone Getaway. This 5 bedroom/3 bathroom house plus a loft provided plenty of space for our family gathering. The kitchen is filled with everything we needed plus some. The location was perfect for us in Soda Springs. A few drawbacks were: (1) The cabin entry was very icy so we had to remove and de-ice the iced over rubber mats before our family arrived so no one would slip getting into the cabin; (2) Some of the beds were too soft and pillows should be replaced; and (3) There was a whole checklist that we had to complete before leaving, which seemed excessive. Otherwise, it was a fabulous long weekend.

Very comfortable getaway for a big group!
I wanted to say thank you for allowing us to rent your comfortable home for a few days. Everyone had a great time even though it rained a little on Sunday. We had plenty of tools in the kitchen to cook for 12, the grill and kitchen appliances worked great, and everyone loved the huge dining table. One of my nieces learned to ride a bike on Saturday and Sunday thanks to the flat, empty streets of the neighborhood. The kids and some of the adults enjoyed the canoe, kayak, and the foosball table. We love having family come to visit us, but our home is not big enough to hold everyone. Thank you again for making yours available to us!
My family of 5 adults and 6 children stayed for 3 nights. It was perfect for us all. Kids loved having their own space in the loft. The place was clean and with a well equipped kitchen. We all had fun shedding on the
Property behind the house. We skied at Donner Ski Ranch which was perfect for our beginner skiers and only 11 minutes away. Plenty of room for 3 cars in the driveway. Roads were well plowed since we received about 3 feet of snow over our three nights there. We may rent this property again in the summer since it is across the street from the lake. Glad we brought all our food because I don’t believe there is a major grocery store near by. The place is well used and well loved and very comfortable for us. It was a perfect winter getaway for our family.
We had a lovely time at the Capone cabin. There were plenty of rooms and beds for everyone. The house had plenty of dishes and silverware, lots of extra blankets, and a real homey feeling. We had so much fun making our own toboggan run on the property which was just as good as the lot across from the snow park. The snow park was very close by also, but we didn't waste our money tubbing there.
We took a walk through the neighborhood on the relatively flat, plowed roads. Lots of families were out walking and walking their dogs.
One reason we picked this cabin was because we planned to put Grandma on the deck so she could watch the kids play in the snow. We shoveled a path for her and she was able to enjoy the activities as well.
We hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake and we have already penciled in some days next winter.
Thank you Cynthia for sharing your mountain home with us.
