Staff was friendly and very helpful. You have to define what you're looking for a rustic lodge or a hotel. The room was very convenient and had a great fireplace. The bed was not comfortable, the mattress has seen better days. Also not to have anything but instant coffee and a tea kettle was not great. The grounds were very inviting and is a great location during ski season.

Easy walk to main strip in South Lake Tahoe, but far enough away for peace & quiet. Staff was welcomingand helpful. Room was spacious, well appointed and very clean. Would recommend the Lodge to anyone wanting a private, yet accessible stay in the area.

We had a fantastic stay at Black Bear Lodge. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning wooden interior that gives it a real mountain lodge feel. It was incredibly peaceful and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The location was ideal too, tucked away in a quiet setting but only a short drive from local shops, restaurants and other amenities. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The room was clean and cozy. We visited in summer months so we did not need the fireplace but it did make the room feel very cozy - we enjoyed the cookies at check in as well as the coffee and tea bar in the room. The bathroom was nice and roomy and the property was well maintained. Will stay again when in Tahoe

We had a wonderful stay at Black Bear Lodge. The property was very clean, the area was quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The gentleman at check-in was very friendly and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a nicer room at no additional cost, which made our stay even better. The only minor issues we experienced were that the hair conditioner dispenser was not working after shampooing, and the sink in the bedroom bathroom was draining very slowly. Other than those small things, everything was great. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again!

Excellent hotel with a location that is off the highway in a quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. Easy parking and driving to nearby attractions. Stayed in the duplex cabin, which was very spacious for a long, Memorial Day weekend; great kitchen, sitting area, and fireplace. Hot tub is ok. Hotel is very comfortable; lots of decorative touches. Will definitely stay again. (Our neighbors in the adjoining part of the duplex were noisy. Please don't invite them back!!)

From the late check-in to the checkout, everything was extremely easy. The staff were super friendly and the room was spacious and cozy. The wine ordered was placed neatly by the bed upon arrival. The staff even asked if I had enjoyed the wine. Definitely booking this place again.
