"We loved staying at the Luke Lure Inn. It's nothing fancy but sitting by the pool was very nice, even though the lake beach was closed. Be aware that each room has their own window AC unit- the property DOES NOT have central AC. We were okay with that but just wished they had had ceiling fans! Overall the property is a great value for the price."

"Great location and love alllll the openness of the house! I would have liked to seen more dishes, drinking glasses. Also, needs maybe a fresh coat of paint inside… especially the main floor living room and kitchen. Not that I’m an interior designer, but something more up to date. :-)"

"As many other reviews have stated, the Shaded Crest is a real gem of a place with wonderful hosts. The cabin was perfect for our stay both inside and out with the other facilities including the pool and spa which were welcome in very hot weather. Everything was spotless and the hosts were not just very welcoming helpful but passed on some great advice for our onward travel. The only downside is that we only had one night there!"

"Our stay at White Oak Point --Russells Fort and The Cabin was excellent. The property location, views, many many amenities exceeded my expectations. The beauty of the historic restoration and use of woods inside and the rustically pleasant decor contributed to our enjoyment. James, our owner/host was delightful and could not do enough for us. Just a few constructive comments. it would be helpful to have instructions on working the dishwasher. We could have used a larger roasting type pot or tray for the oven. As we mentioned to James, improved lighting in the kitchen is needed.We thoroughly enjoyed the seating on the decks and porches--quite delightful. We all thank you for your efforts."

"The location to waterfront was OK. It is in a good location. The driveway is step with a drop of on one side. From the cabin to the water are many rock steps, wooden stairs would have been an easier trek. The sitting area on top of the boat house was not usable. There was no umbrella. The cushions on the chairs were torn old and I believe there were fleas in the cushions. The metal chairs were too hot to sit in and uncomfortable. The swimming area was good, but coming out of the water there was no place to sit. The kyacks took up all the deck space and no room for chairs. The house was pretty much as the photos showed. We encountered many ants. They were all over the deck and kitchen sink. There was dog hair all over the sofa and floor. I had a pet, a poodle, which poodles don't shed. For these reasons I probably would book at another location on our next visit."
