About this property
TRIPP LAKE RETREAT sleeps 7 and is a great place to make Adirondack memories!
Tripp Lake Retreat is nestled in the woods overlooking Tripp Lake in Chestertown, NY. This peaceful get-away is easily accessed just minutes from the Adirondack Northway (Rt. 87), yet is located in a secluded setting. Since our home is in a secluded setting we have installed two security cameras. Both are outside. One is mounted on a tree near the wood box and faces the driveway and the front door. The other is mounted on the house and faces the stairs to the back door off the kitchen. Our fully furnished 3 bedroom home has 2 full bathrooms and sleeps 7. Bedroom #1 has a King bed. Bedroom #2 has a Queen and a Twin. Bedroom #3 has a Queen bed. Queen and Twin bed linens are NOT provided. You'll have to bring those with you. King bed linens ARE provided. Bathroom and Kitchen hand towels are provided. Bath towels are NOT provided. This cuts down on the amount of laundry that must be done by my very busy housekeeper. Both bathrooms have shower/tub combinations. The kitchen with breakfast bar is fully equipped with 2 coffee makers (not Keurig coffee maker), toaster, microwave, blender, etc. The dining table in the Family Room seats up to 10 guests. Our spacious Living Room has a gas fireplace and ample seating. This living area including the Family Room is surrounded by windows that offer beautiful views of the lake and all outdoors! Enter Tripp Lake Retreat through the Mud Room, a great place to leave coats, shoes, toys, and wet beach towels. On the same level is a Laundry Room with washer and dryer. All the comforts of home are available to you while you experience Adirondack adventures during the months of July, August, and September.. We have an automatic generator so you will never have to worry about losing power! Swim, fish, kayak, canoe, skate, on the lake or just sit on the deck and enjoy the view. If you like to hike, bike, shop, ride horses or roller coasters, have bon-fires by the lake, or sit inside by the cozy fire, Tripp Lake Retreat is an ideal vacation spot for you and your friends and family.

This was our fourth year staying at the lake house - we love it! Beautiful lake great for swimming, floating, and kayaking; great location and a very clean and comfortable house!
Our 11th year for our family business ADK retreat. We live in a gorge in the Finger Lakes so expect allot from our ADK destination. This home checked all the boxes with every provision close at hand, an immaculate atmosphere and a bit of family history in word and pictures which gave the property a warm feeling. The owner sent the check in information well in advance and was prompt and pleasant in communication. Great meals, canoeing, morning coffee on the deck - a good time was had by all!
This was a least the third time staying at Tripp Lake. We love the location and the house. Communication with Debby is easy and comfortable. The house has always felt like a home away from home. It’s clean, near towns that truly give you an Adirondack feel, and offer so many choices of things to do every day. We are always happy upon arrival, sad to leave, and look forward to next summer to come back.
We had a wonderful time. Plenty of family games to play, and even some books and toys for the toddlers. Everything we needed. Great location for trip to Lake George.
Nice getaway in the ADK. Place was spatious, clean, well stocked kitchen, and great communication with the host. Access to lake with two canoes and nice deck to enjoy the scenery.
Really enjoyed our stay! Host Debbie was very responsive, nice and accommodating. The house was just the right size for our family getaway with 8 people, including 2 small children. The house is just steps away from gorgeous Lake Tripp. Short drive to touristy Lake George nearby. Great spot for a family seeking an Adirondack vacation.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lots of extra amenities. Super comfortable. Only thing needed was a description of accessibility, steep driveway and three stories as we were all elderly.
Debby’s house was an exceptional place to vacation with my mother, wife & our 2 boys. The lake was so much fun to swim and canoe in. The house was very clean, well stocked and a great home base for everything in the Adirondacks. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here if we are in the area again. Highly recommended!
This was our fifth time staying here and it was great as always. The weather wasn’t as great as other years but we still were able to enjoy the lake…the advantage of the location of the house is that you can quickly pack up and get back to the house if rain or a storm rolls in. The water was wonderful for swimming and kayaking (we bring our own kayaks). The house is very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!
The house was perfect for our weekend getaway. The owners have taken very good care of this property. Our families had a blast using the canoes and swimming in the lake. My 8 year old son even learned how to paddleboard with a neighbor kid. We'll definitely look to renting this house again if we are in the area for another vacation.
Great scenary, was easy to relax to. REALLY missed no A/C for the first night (when out in heat all day, there was no comfort to be had that first night). Kind of small tv in main room. No screen on porch sliding door.Loved the spacious area for 6 people.
This is our third summer in this property. Debby is a hands on owner who is responsive to those who stay in her house. This home is so comfortable that we look forward to being there knowing what to expect, from the home to the beautiful beach and lake.
Property was just as described. Clean and comfortable. Very peaceful by the lake. We went canoeing daily. It was just what we needed while spending time away from our homes in Long Island and Queens. Debby the owner was a pleasure to deal with, as she was very informative and responsive with any questions I had. We would definitely stay here again.
My friends and I enjoyed our stay at Tripp Lake Retreat. The house feels like a home away from home, nestled in the trees with a view of the lake. Fall is a lovely time to be here and relax with friends. Short walks on crisp mornings, drives to local craft stores and relaxing by the fire made the trip just what we wanted for our time together.
Debbie is a gracious host and responsive to needs.
I will definitely consider staying again as Tripp Lake Retreat becomes a favorite spot.
Perfection for our three generation getaway. Space was awesome as was location, well equipped with everything one would need. A teenager who needed his space; Mom had her knitting corner and Grammy a perfect reading nook. The private beach area suited the youngest among us and also for his Grammy. There’s nothing quite like being in the Adirondacks. Tripp Lake retreat was definitely a treat.
This property is an excellent place to relax, with a view of the lake and being in the trees - like a tree house. We enjoyed local attractions and the lake- canoeing and swimming.
My grandson asked if we could come back here next year. My son and his family are biding from Germany and always live staying a few days in the Adirondacks.
I highly recommend this very comfortable home.
A beautiful, relaxing, and welcoming place to spend the Fourth!
The property was spacious, well-appointed and perfectly located right across the street from Tripp Lake. Debby, our host, responded to our queries quickly and completely, and was so thoughtful to include a story about the property in her guidebook that really endeared us to it, as well as a book to sign with personal messages when we left.
Check-out directions were clear and reasonable and so were expectations regarding house rules and housekeeping. All in all, this was a wonderful property to stay at and we would be happy to return.
I stayed at Debby’s house a few nights over Christmas week with my wife and 3 kids. I LOVE staying here!!! It is tucked away with beautiful views of Tripp Lake. The house is very comfortable and clean with a lot of space for the family to spread out but great rooms for us to spend quality time together. The plan was ski a few days but Mother Nature didn’t cooperate so only made it to Whiteface 1x. This house is an easy drive to Gore or a little longer to head up to Lake Placid. But the drive is awesome thru the ADKs.
Debby was such a great host. Very responsive and professional. This was the second time I’ve stayed here and will definitely be back again!!
As soon as you drive up to this house its like you’re home. It’s so welcoming and charming. Then walking in with all your belongings, finding your way around the place, running to find “your” bedroom….was a thrill !!
Time for a cocktail after all that, but where. The huge deck off the living room of course. Opening that sliding door to a breathtaking view of the huge trees and the sparkling lake, was all we needed. You will find this your fav place to unwind dream talk laugh and breath in that fresh Adirondack air.
So go for it you won’t be disappointed.
Close to many fun spots/good restaurants, ie: Lake George
The house is in a lovely location - quiet and a 2 minute walk to a lake with a great sandy beach. The house has lots of space, so if you're part of a large group, there's plenty of room to spread out. The lack of sheets and towels (don't forget to bring your own!) and the cleaning fee are the only reasons I can't give 5 stars. This is the first short term rental I've used that asked guests to strip the bed, load/run the dishwasher, and stick around to empty the dishwasher. The danger of having guests empty the dishwasher is that no one checks to see if they're clean. Some of the silverware in the drawer wasn't clean. Dirty forks aside, the lake was perfect on a hot summer day.
