It's close to lakes and hiking trails, as well as theme parks and other tourist-y type stuff. And there are lots of games and activities at the property to stay entertained, too! Wendy and Anthony made the stay really special by making us feel like a part of their community. They are model hosts! From our first communication to check out, they were amazingly responsive to our needs. This was a family vacation for myself, my 30 year old daughter, my 80 year old father, and my physically disabled sister. When we arrived at the property, Wendy let us at the door with the key to the cottage and several brochures for local activities. We got to the cottage to find that my sister's wheelchair wouldn't fit through the bathroom door. We asked if it would be ok if we removed the door for our stay. The next thing we knew, Anthony was at the cottage removing the door and hanging a curtain over the door way for us. Who does that? Someone who wants to keep their guests happy, that's who. We rented kayaks and they helped us take the to the lake, get them in the water, and even made sure we were safely in them before they left. They offered to give us their cell number in case we got in trouble while on the lake. The cottage was exactly as described. The pool was beautiful. The game room was well stocked with q lot of fun outdoor games as well as board games for rainy days. The location was perfect. Five minutes from town with grocery stores, pharmacy, and restaurants. 20 minutes from Lake George c60 minutes from Lake Placid. I cannot say enough good things above our trip and stay. I wish I didn't have next year's vacation planned already, because I'd love to be able to go back and spend two weeks at Twin Pines Lodge. ##### Shirley D.
