We own this deck and it is shared with the house next door and no one else. My husband and I were road-tripping through New England, and are so happy we found this cottage! The house was very clean and cozy, the bed is super comfy and shower was way huge and perfect for tall people. I think my favorite part was the private dock. It rained while we were there, but it was so nice sitting on the lower deck under the tall deck and just taking in the gorgeous scenery. The water was still very warm so we got to enjoy swimming and paddle boarding. There are plenty of shops and restaurants a walk or short drive away. We fit 2 adults, 2 children, and a 9 month old quite comfortably. It was just exactly the right amount of room for us. We had so much fun utilizing the kayaks and deck/swimming area. Very cool. The kids had a blast and so did we. It was definitely relaxing. The host, Karen, was very attentive and helpful from booking to check out. The cabin was very clean and well kept. We were within walking distance from breakfast, lunch, and ice cream and took advantage of being in the heart of Alton Bay. Our only complaint is that we wished we could stay here for longer! I got a chance to meet the owners as they were using their other property and were in the lake. I got a chance to get into the lake, and it was just amazing. I only with that it was the beginning of the summer so that I could again this summer, stay longer, and get into the lake more. This is a hidden gem, and the house they own on the street is also owned by them. The cottage was perfect for me, one queen bed to enjoy. A family with two kids could stay in there, and larger families could rent the house. I know the skies are gray, they were Wednesday where the temperatures were colder. I swam Tuesday, the air temperature was 71, while the lake was 77\. Words can't describe how this place was after making myself take a vacation in over 25 years. Picnic table was run down and ruined my jeans, and overlooked a gravel parking lot. Virtually no views of lake from windows, due to overgrown trees. There was an argument between a couple people outside our window at 2:30 AM, loud enough to wake me up. We only stayed one night out of the 3\. The Wifi worked 20% of the time. The screen door was broken, the draw in the kitchen nearly fell out every time you opened it. It was too bad, but live and learn ##### John L. We really enjoyed the kayaks, water floats, and noodles that were available. The deck overlooking the bay was wonderful. The property owner was very attentive and responsive. ##### T H. This cute little cottage was about an hour and a half from our place and perfect for just the two of us and our dog. It's a short walk from shops and dining in Alton Bay. We saw a group of 6 loons. Check in process was simple. The view from the dock/deck was amazing and great for boat owners. My one and only negative is beyond anyone’s control, the steepness of the stairs and the crossing of the road is not the best for people with infant or toddlers. This little camp was perfect for the two of us. The property was clean and exactly as advertised. The location was perfect! We love this area of the lake. Alton bay is one of our favorites. Karen was outstanding to work with. She replied immediately to any and all questions. Our favorite part of the property was the location and the AMAZING deck. It is shared with the house next door but we had it all to ourselves during our stay. The views ARE AMAZING!!!!! The deck is very big and can accommodate a lot of people. It also had a diving board on the dock. After our long days of boating, we would come back to camp, pack our cooler with drinks and snacks and relax on the deck. It was so beautiful and a great way to end our day. The only thing I would caution is getting to the deck could be a little challenging for some with physical limitations because of the steep stairs to cross the road but we had no problems.
