"We enjoyed every minute of this beautiful, well-appointed 3-level in La Roque-Gageac. The kitchen worked perfectly--after all, the host is a retired chef! We found everything we needed, washing machine, etc. This 3-level sits below the gorgeous cliffs, adjacent to the wide stone stairway that takes you up to the cliffside roadways with their breathtaking views of the Dordogne River. And from all three levels of this 3-level, you look straight out at the river. We were met by the host who took care of every need (parking pass, restaurant and cafe suggestions). He was delightful. While on the street side we could look out to the river, in back we found a sweet terrace with picnic table (and clothes line, also helpful), looking up through flowers and vines at the limestone cliffs above. We felt very lucky indeed to be in this beautiful place."

"Impressive property. Beautiful landscape. V helpful and professional staff. We had diner at "Le M" restaurant, and the mushroom starter was truly exquisit."

"Parking was difficult"

"The hotel was very lovely, situated up on top of the hill. Took one or two tries with Google Maps to get the right turn but there are also signs for the hotel itself on the roads. About a 25 minute walk back up the hill, but not too bad. And a quick stroll down! The room was very comfortable, the hotel owner was extremely friendly and helpful with local suggestions. And the breakfast was delicious! Would definitely stay again."

"A charming single story hotel in the countryside with views of at least 4 castles from the property. Our room had access to the patio(terasse) where we could sit outside and enjoy the weather. Easy drive to go out for dinner to multiple charming towns and villages. Very friendly and helpful staff, good continental breakfast. We liked it so much we decided to stay 2 extra nights. Good place to base yourself and explore the region."

"sadly restaurant closed on mondays. however sarlat had other opportunities. for peak season would suggest reserving carpark place dogs accepted staff charming and helpful room clean and comfortable "

"Beautiful pool and garden, beautiful quiet location - house was good but old fashioned and required more thorough cleaning and attention to detail on cleaning crockery, checking for bugs in house (cleaning again) and ensuring that all facilities were in good working order which they were not. Heating was broken, dishwasher did not clean properly, no hot water in evening, then internet went down in storm affecting TV, with little to no contact with owner. This house needs TLC as did we so we felt cold, neglected and disappointed with our holiday. Apart from one load of logs for the fire which cheered us up we were pretty much ignored by the owner except when he arrived to check the heating and the plumber tried to fix. But it came on once at 2am then that was it. So very sorry but it was all too frustrating. Better communication is required. "
