"This is a good house with a lovely large garden and pool in a village on the edge of a hill with a fair selection of bars and restaurants. It takes a little settling into but it’s worth it when you do. The house is a bit dated - lots of ornaments and plastic flowers. The kitchen has lots of crockery but cooking is a bit challenging as all the markings have worn off the cooker knobs, and the implements are random. There is ac in the double bedroom and the attic room. This kept the whole house at a reasonably cool temperature. When the wind got up the shutters were rather rattly and one of the attic windows kept blowing open!. The pool is great and the garden is private with an amazing view. Lots of towels were provided. Jose who met us, doesn’t speak English but was very jovial and somehow managed to convey a lot to us including how to change a gas bottle! Good communication through WhatsApp. His cousin runs the local taxi who were very reliable for an airport transfer back to Malaga. You’ve really got to have a car in Casarabonela. It doesn’t seem to have any public transport but I may be wrong. We parked in the free car park (parking Casarabonela) opposite the house all week as the drive is awkward to get into and has beautiful but low flowering bushes and trees above it."
