La Palma is a true paradise for those who want to enjoy the best of the Canary Islands, but want to avoid the inconveniences of the usual crowded tourist destinations. It offers extraordinary landscapes, with unique opportunities for hiking through lush forests and fascinating volcanoes. Lovers of hiking and unspoilt nature shouldn’t think twice about booking their holidays in La Palma.

A Biosphere Reserve since 2002, La Palma stands out for its natural parks, including Bosque de los Tilos and the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, which holds an impressive crater with a six-mile perimeter, covered in lush forests that are home to a great variety of plant and animal species, many of them unique to La Palma. Nearby, you can see the highest mountain of the island, the stunning Roque de Los Muchachos.

Even though there are fewer beaches than you would expect for an island, La Palma will amaze you with its fine black sand and pristine waters. See for yourself at Puerto Naos, in Los Llanos de Aridane, or Los Cancajos, in Breña Baja, with fabulous underwater caves. Puerto de Tazacorte beach is ideal for windsurfing and Bajamar beach in Breña Alta makes for a wonderful stroll along the shoreline.

A fantastic reason to search for cheap trips to La Palma is the island's Carnival, to visit the picturesque Santa Cruz de La Palma during the celebration of the Day of the “Indianos”, a fun holiday that is celebrated to the beat of Cuban *son music,* where those attending wear white clothes and paint the town white with talcum powder.

If you book a package holiday in La Palma, you’ll land in La Palma airport, which offers flights to the other Canary Islands, Madrid and other European cities. Once on the island, it’s a good idea to rent a car, as many of its beaches and other natural landscapes are fairly isolated.

The owners do not understand English. And they had no idea that we reserved their room. We were locked out of door. We are lucky to met a couple who can speak Spanish and English both and help us to call the owner. Then the owner come. Anyway, the room is OK, but the parking is difficult.
