She welcomed us on arrival with our favorite pie and other treats, and made sure we had everything we needed. Carla has a gift for making her guests feel well taken care of. Her home is decorated very attractively but it is also comfortable and cozy. The view from the deck is spectacular. The neighborhood is great, near the famous secret steps of La Mesa, the village, and access to the freeways. Carla went out of her way to help us have a great time in San Diego! She left us muffins, snacks, coffee and a delicious apple pie! She also made sure to tell us all her favorite spots to eat in the neighborhood and actually escorted us directly to one of them our first evening!! It was our first trip to the West Coast and with Carla’s help, we definitely had an unforgettable time. It was nice every evening to drive back to this comfortable La Mesa home away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with a cool secret staircase very close by. After a busy day at the beach or sightseeing, it was wonderful to return to this beautiful, quiet, comfortable home. The owners have provided everything you need, even things you wouldn't expect like beach towels and chairs. La Mesa is a great, little town convenient to almost everything in San Diego. Right from the beginning from the great unobstructed view all the way to the coast, and a very clean updated house made our visit wonderful. To top it off, Carla our host, had all sorts of treats and fresh fruit and muffins waiting for us. There was plenty room for two couples and we enjoyed sitting on a nice deck enjoying a morning coffee or watching a gorgeous sunset.
