We booked Hotel Vecchia Fonte after reading guests ratings, and then had serious worries that we had got it wrong this time. We worried that Palau was a small town but not a quaint old Sardinian town, by a car park, busy port with ferry boats, but all of our worries were unfounded. Great accomodation. Friendly staff. Awesome breakfasts. Room cleaning immaculate. Location is fantastic too, close to the coach park, to the main centre and about 10 minutes walk to the beach. My only one criticism is that the hotel amenities state "guest access to outdoor pool" but this is not the case and so Expedia is misleading. There is no access to a pool. There is a private club pool I found about 10 minutes walk away which was great but you have to pay club membership and then about ...

Beautifully lush, landscaped gardens frame this luxurious designer hotel. Rooms are each set in a generous space and are thoughtfully designed and well appointed. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast in a smart, airy dining room looking out over the gardens. Nice pool and bar with Happy Hour. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

This property is okay for a last minute one night stay as it is tired and worn out. Our toilet seat was very loose, the shower door didn't fit properly and sleeping on the waterproof undersheet was delightful!
We were unable to sit out on our terrace area as the bushes were overgrown and it was crawling with ants.
