Nice place central

The doors were half broken and it just wasnt a pleasant experience

On arrival at the hotel, we were given a room at the Flora 2, the complex just across the road from the main part of the hotel, with all ground floor apartments. Entry was via the patio door, which was quite rickety and awkward to unlock and lock. That became a serious problem a couple of nights in, someone managed to get in the room while we were sleeping and stole my daughter's shoes, 2 power banks and our bags. Luckily our money and passports were in the bedroom safe, and they missed the car keys on the side. I reported this to reception, but I'm not sure what they did to look into it. Another family had the same happen on the same night. We did get our room moved to the main complex, with a proper door. This room was much nicer, without a kitchenette that the previous one had, and was higher up, with a proper balcony and a view over the sea, with decent AC. The food was pretty good, all buffet style, and the drinks are reasonably priced. Parking is hit or miss on street but free.

First visit to Club Del Carmen, we had a great time and would definitely return. 2 bed apartment was perfect, air con in both bedrooms and the lounge, comfy beds, clean and well stocked with everything you need. The complex feels safe with card access needed to enter. All the staff were very helpful, the sunbed booking system is perfect, saves those early morning starts to get something. We visited in the peak of summer (Aug) and had no problems with getting a decent bed. The pool and hot tub are great and the pool are was cleaned daily by the chap on the floor scrubber. My only slight criticism (more constructive for the complex than anything) is the cocktails and some of the drinks (sangria for example) could be improved from the onsite bar, we've stayed at other Hilton complexes and when the happy hour bell rings there's a dash to the bar, it wasn't so apparent here and I think if the drinks were improved slightly there would be more demand throughout the day (not just happy hours). The food and entertainment were great, we were able to watch the film one evening from our balcony and it was nice that they re-opened the pool till the film ended at about 11pm. Did we have a great holiday... Yes absolutely! Would we return... Yes without a doubt! PS save yourself some cash, the bus drops off and picks up right outside the complex and it's one 1.40 EUR per person per trip, the taxi from the airport cost us 17 EUR.
