Our room was accessible through a hidden door behind a book case and was equally full of history. It had two comfortable arm chairs for reading, wooden window coverings to block out the light and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had both a stand alone soaker tub and a shower, with plenty of hot water and good pressure. Our host Ivo is also the owner and an author and gave excellent recommendations for local dining. We really enjoyed chatting with him and hearing the history of the Chateau. Saint-Chartier is definitely off the beaten path, but if you are looking for history and really unique experience, I'd highly recommend it.
